"It is no accident that Newquay is the largest sea side resort in cornwall. Within four miles of its railway station, there are a dozen or so beaches, adding up to more than 600 acres of firm clean sand, quite unsupassed anywhere else in Europe. Moreover, the beaches consist of a series of small coves, allowing you to move from one to another for a change of scenery. Behind the beaches are tall clifs containing many caves. Some have a second chamber that was used t one time for smuggling while others are so vast that they are actually used for concerts!! Newquay is no longer an important fishing port but you can still visit the Heurs HOuse on the clifftop where watch used to be kept for the arrival of the pilchyard shoals the spelled prosperity for the fisherman.
There is an interesting habour here, built to handle exports of lead, silver, and many other minerls during the graet mining boom of the 19th century. A railway connected the habour to the mines and actually descended the cliffs down a one 4 and a half tunnel that now houses an aquarium. Newquay is one of the premier sea-side resorts af Britain and has hotels, restraunts, pubs and all other amenities you ould expect to find here. A wonderful place, so muct to do, VISIT!!"
