"The Victoria could have leapt from the pages of a Charles dickens novel. Since 1269 it has been a hostelry of one kind or another. Situated at the ancient Cross at Chester's city centre, The Victoria, a nationally award wining pub has become a favorite meeting place whether for a meal or simply for a drink and a chat.
Food experts and one of the directors, Raphael Boydell has helped The Victoria to gain a name for excellence; writing and making films for the last 25 years about gourmet food around the world has made his approach to food very exciting. Using local products the three chefs, along with Raphael create freshly produced dishes. Raph demands freshness in everything, even down to his own homemade sausages produced entirely on the premises to his own secret recipe.
The friendly staff will help you select cask ales from their constantly changing range or a bottle of wine to accompany your meal. I can see why this pub has won awards; there are literally hundreds of ales to choose from. The wines taste fanatic, and the prices are good too. The atmosphere is amazing, it's a great place to relax, and the staffs are very welcoming. When you go in a few times, you get to know all of the locals, and it becomes a kind of family atmosphere, simply exhilarating, amazing, got to visit!!"
