"One of the country's best and most imaginative theme parks, not least because they really have stuck with the Arthurian theme in just about all the well thought out entertainments. The spectacularly dizzying swing boat ride is in the shape of Excalibur, the monorail round the place looks like a tamed dragon, and even the animals in their farm aren't out of place-they live in thatched and bobbled enclosures. A highlight is the splendid half-hour jousting display-twice a day in peak periods, but only once a day at the start and end of the season, so worth checking the time when you arrive; the seating is under cover. Dozens of other attractions include something for most age groups; older children are well catered for with thrill rides like the intriguingly designed Rack, the new looping Gauntlet, and the excellent dark roller-coaster Venom, but there is plenty of more sedate rides for younger visitors, with scaled down roller-coasters to get them in the habit. You can bottle feed lambs or help with milking at the farm, and there's a big indoor play area too. Also a log flume and other rides, a magician and a jester, and an odd new show with animatronics cats illustrating the life of a medieval knight. A couple of things have extra charges: the go karts, and the driving school, where junior learners can get behind the wheel of a fire engine or a double Decker bus. There are perhaps a few too many arcade games, but otherwise this is the best place in the area for unadulterated fun: most children can happily spend a whole day here. It's the best in dry weather, though a fair bit is under cover, and if it does rain continuously for two hours you can get a half price return ticket, which is really cool. 01257 452100 is their number for more information."
