"Northern Ireland is a wonderful place, with loads of little tourist spots, cafés, pubs and some beautiful scenery.

Northern Ireland is probably more well known for 'The Troubles', but it's a brilliant place to visit now, 'The Troubles' are a thing of the past and I would encourage anyone who wants to visit Northern Ireland to do so!

The little towns in Northern Ireland are the best I think, the people are friendly and the craic is great!

The pubs flow with Guinness and laughter!

The town that I live in is called Lurgan, in the borough of Craigavon and is in County Armagh, it's a big town.

There is Lord Lurgan Memorial Park, where there is a beautiful lake, which is home to some beautiful swans and many breads of ducks. Located in the park is Waves swimming pool, there's two pools, one for adults and one for the younger children, there's also a gym and sauna facilities.

The town is very pretty and there are a few gift shops and a Town Hall.

There are two Golf Clubs, there is Lurgan Golf Club, which is situated in Lord Lurgan Memorial Park, the fairway is beautiful and its very calm and serene.

The other Golf Club, is called Silverwood Golf club, its on the edge of town and is also very beautiful.

There is one mail hotel in the town, its called The Ashburn and I personally would recommend this hotel to anyone. The hotel is run by a family and it's a very friendly hotel, there are many rooms, a restaurant, a bar and a nightclub/function hall.

The nightclub is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and it's a good night out.

The restaurant is very modern in its décor, and the food is superb, freshly cooked and reasonably priced.

The bar is beautiful, it has all recently been refurbished, there are large widescreen televisions where football and horse racing is viewed at the weekends.

If I was to recommend a best time to visit this hotel it would be in Gaelige football season, the match does be shown and the atmosphere is incredible. The Gaelige team that is supported is Armagh, and everyone wears the Country top and the craic is great!

The hotel is within 5 minutes walk of the train station.

Just on the town edge is Lough Neagh, its very idyllic. There is bird watching facilities and Oxford Island Discovery Centre, this is a beautiful spot. I would suggest a walk around Oxford Island, it's a beautiful walk on a beautiful day. There is a café at the discovery centre, or why not take a picnic if it's a nice day?

Just outside Lurgan is Rushmere shopping centre, its growing rapidly and you might get yourself a bargain, or maybe just treat yourself as you will be on a break!

Lurgan is located very close to the M1 motorway, and is only 20 minutes or so away from Belfast . Belfast is great for night life, shopping, theatre and dining. You could always grab the train or get a bus, which is cheaper than getting a taxi.

From Lurgan town centre it is easy to get a bus to anywhere, be it Galway or Dublin, just check the time tables and Ireland is your oyster.

I would recommend a visit to Lurgan and if not Lurgan then Northern Ireland, there is lots to see and do and lots of beautiful places and things to see.

You want to come and see us Irish folk???
