"I love it in Wales and I am now going to tell you about my favourite beach in Wales which is Aberdovey and this is a beach we visit several times each year and we have never tired of visiting.
Aberdovey or to give the place its proper Welsh name Aberdyfi is quite easy to get to. If you travel on the motorway towards Shrewsbury, then towards Welshpool, then towards Machynlleth and then once in Machynlleth you will see Aberdovey signposted everywhere and you will be able to find it no problem. It takes us about two hours from here in the West Midlands to get there. It is classed as being within Snowdonia national park so as you can imagine there is beautiful scenery.

Aberdovey is a small little village which boasts a pretty harbour, pier, beach, great walks, great accommodation and nice places to eat and drink. When you first arrive it does look exactly like a small seaside resort and if you manage to get there on a sunny day you would think you were somewhere like Spain.

First the most attractive part of Aberdovey is the amazing golden sanded beach there which is wonderful and looks so beautiful. It is worth noting that dogs are not allowed on parts of the beach so please look out for signs. In the summer you will see that the beach attracts a lot of people and parking is quite hard to find so you need to get there early to get a good parking spot by the beach. The beach itself is golden sand and there are sand dunes alongside most of it which kids love. Across the waters you will see another beach which is another part of Wales so do not attempt to go and swim over there.

On the left hand side you will see the pier which is a wonderful place and you will often see people with crab nets trying to catch crabs which me and my family love doing (just thought I should clarify that you do not eat them and put them back into the sea afterwards).

There are many attractions in Aberdovey such as a park for the kids and there is also a pitch and put golf course, bowls and tennis courts for the more active of people that only costs a few pounds and they are all great fun. If you want to get really active then you can try some of the water sports on offer including sailing and canoeing and there are also boat trips available.

Alongside the beach are lots of colourful houses which look wonderful and there are also several shops and restaurants too. For eating out I recommend the Dovey Inn which gives you a lot of pub type food so there is a lot of choice and the staff are extremely friendly. Shop wise there are several shops where you can get crab lines from to go crab fishing and in the summer you will have a lot of choice of ice-creams available. There are some nice antique galleries and also souvenir shops so something for everybody.

The final thing I will mention to you is walking. From the beach if you look towards the houses you will see what looks like a gazebo on top of the hill. The walk up to this gazebo is fantastic and when you get to the top the views are amazing so I would recommend you give that walk a go.

If you are thinking about visiting Aberdovey now then there is plenty of accommodation available including hotels, guest houses and even farm houses so you will be spoilt for choice.

Oh and before I go I also should mention to you all that Aberdovey is a prime spot for events throughout the year including golf competitions, festivals and pantomimes. What I can recommend to go and see is the lantern and fireworks display which usually takes place in August and is fun for all of the family as there is food and drink and fun to be had so if you can get there to see it then do go as I will definitely be there later this year.

Aberdovey gets top marks from me as I think it is picturesque and has some great things to do and couple this with friendly people all around you and it is even better."
