"A few of my friends and I stayed in a cottage near to dumfries for a week. Originally there was 11 of us going, but there were some problems within our group, and only 8 of us ended up going. This was great, the cottage was set out for 11 people. So we had loads of room. I elected to have the top floor, which had two bedrooms(2 beds in both) and a bathroom/shower. Then I pushed the beds together, and slept like a king.
We went on an outing to visit dumfries castle, a mighty building. Unfortunately the castle was closed for refurbishment, so we couldn't go inside. But we were still allowed to tour the grounds. The castle looks fantastic, and the gardens have a great regal look. My friends and I found a huge adventure playpark, within the grounds. The next few hours were tremendous fun.
I loved my week away. It was a good way to say goodbye to a few of my friends too, as they were moving away etc. Needless to say, we're all going again next year"
