"This is one of the 53 Vue Cinema's in the country, we visit this particular one as it is closest to our home. It has 12 screens which vary in size, when a new film is released it is usually screened in one of the larger Auditoriums to accommodate larger audience.
We recently visited this cinema during the Easter Holidays to see Ice Age 2 The Meltdown. To be honest even though it was the school holidays, the cinema was very good at coping with the extra numbers. This Cinema is based on a Retail Park, some of the other attractions are Dagenham Bowling, Mc Donald's also Mecca Bingo for Adults only, there are plenty of other places to eat including speciality Restaurants.
When you face the front of the Cinema you are looking through glass doors there are three entrances one on each side and one directly in front of the building. Once you have entered this part you come to the Box Office this is where you purchase your tickets. They sell adult tickets, children's tickets and also a Family ticket which is slightly cheaper. This entitles you to two adults and two children.
Once you have purchased your tickets you move into the Foyer section on your left is the toilet facilities, (at peak times such as when a film has ended, these can be extremely busy) to your right is a shop which sells pick and mix sweets and other confectionary. Also there is a small arcade there which has a variety of games in it. Directly in front of you is the food stand, this is the best bit, I always buy the children's boxes these are extremely good value and usually are advertising the newest children's film that has been released, in our case it was Ice Age 2. They have two different types of boxes the box for £2.50 has small popcorn, a soft drink a small pack of Haribo jellies. The other one is priced at £5.00 and includes all the above and an official item of merchandise from the film, in this case it was a large motorised toy which was one of three characters from the film.
Other items available from the food stand is Nachos with either cheesy or salsa sauce and jalapeno peppers, hotdogs in different sizes, popcorn either sweet or salt (sweet is better). Various chocolate, also different drinks still and fizzy in various sizes. All these are priced individually or in meal deals which are shown on boards around the food stand.
Finally the cinema itself has very comfortable seats and also has holders on the arm rests for your drinks (although the large drink only just fit in them). The quality of sound and picture is fantastic and just so you know the film went down great with the children.
