"Twycross Zoo is an established zoo set in 40 acres of open countryside , it is only four miles from the M42/A42 (which links the M1 and M6) making it readily accessible from anywhere in central England.
This zoo has over 160 species including monkeys ,gorillas these being its main focus but there are many other animals including sea lions, penguins ,lions leopards elephants and giraffes, reptiles and many birds all in easy mapped out areas so the chances of being lost are at a minimum for example for smaller animals there are areas such as the parrot house , reptile house , everything clearly named and several boards around the zoo so that you can easily find your way around
At certain times of the day you can watch seal lion feeding and elephant training
Apart from the wide range of animals, a huge children's adventure playground can be found with rides and bouncy castles complete with a miniature railway with a model steam train that parents can ride on with their children for a small fee
Also on the site there are several cafes and ice cream stalls however we took our lunch with us and had a picnic in one of the many picnic areas located around the zoo
There are many very clean toilet blocks on site with baby changing facilities and 2 gift shops to buy all of your zoo souvenirs
Twycross zoo is open 364 days of the year only closing for Christmas day and currently charge these admission prices
