"St Mawes is to be found on the picturesque Roseland peninsula, approxomately 15 miles from both Truro and St Austell. There are some bus links from Truro and also taxis are always available.
St Mawes is one of the up and coming villages in Cornwall, it has a beauty all of its own.
I find that I can easily while away a day here, there really is alot to do. There is ample car parking in the village centre. From here you can explore the village...I suppose one of the most well known places in St Mawes would be the Hotel Tresanton, owned by Olga Polizzi (of the Forte family) a beautiful hotel with a tasty menu!! There is also the Idle rocks hotel, the Ship and Castle hotel and the Rising sun pub which has rooms to let. The village has plenty of lovely gift shops, galleries and also a wide range of amenities such as a spar shop, pharmacy and bakery.
I love to catch one of the regular boats accross to Falmouth which leave from the quayside throughout the day, just get a take-away hot chocolate from Calmers and Short and a hot pasty from the bakery then all aboard the ferry boat for the short trip to Falmouth. St Mawes also has its very own castle which is really worth a visit aswell.
In fact, theres so much to see and do, why not make a weekend of it?"
