"For those of you looking for luxury accommodation, I advise you look on! Despite its name, Blacklands Farm is an activity campsite. It's primary function is to provide fun, outdoor activities; its services are most commonly utilised by scout and guide groups going on an annual camp, but the site is open to all groups.

The accommodation is simple - there are 122 acres of land for camping, as well as several indoor heated buildings for those feeling less adventurous or for those travelling in winter and early spring. Having both camped and lodged, I can say that I recommend camping for short overnight stays, or where money is an issue (I have camped for one night with a charge of £1.75), but for longer activity breaks, having somewhere warm and comfortable to come back to after a long day of wall-climbing and kayaking is very welcome!

The campsite offers a vast array of activities, from archery to zip wiring, and popular activities are abseiling, teambuilding and the climbing wall. For a full list, a quick internet search should take you to a relevant site!

All campsites have toilet facilities, although to make use of these they require you bring your own toilet roll and cleaning equipment. There are even hairdryers for those wanting to stay looking neat (good luck to you!)

My favourite thing about Blacklands Farm is its diversity - set in the quiet landscapes of Sussex countryside, a peaceful stay is always possible, with many nature trails to take at your own pace. If, however, you are looking for a more active break, there are all of the activities mentioned above, plus many more, to divert your interest.

The important thing to remember is to confirm all of your bookings early - some activities, for obvious reasons, can only be undertaken at certain times of year, and many of them get booked up early on - so don't waste time! Book now for a fun, fancy-free summer stay!
