"For those of us down South, there are a few good choices for beaches. Eastbourne beach is the best choice for those wanting a relaxing day - without the noisy arcades and masses of tourists, it provides a peaceful setting, with car parking and a beach cafe with everything from ice creams to hot dogs. The beach is split up into many small sections, meaning that on most days, you can have a 50m stretch of beach to yourself, and not be able to see anyone else at all!
The beach is mostly sand, with fewer pebbles than most others in the area. The beach is perfect for those looking for an isolated area of sand to lay down a towel and sunbathe in, or simply for those wanting a beach outing far from the madding crowd!"

Theres nothing like a good day at Eastbourne. A classic seaside break. From Bingo To Beer, its easy in eastborne (did not know I could rhyme!)
The beaches in Eastbourne are indeed a great place to go for a peaceful relaxing day out. However, they are in fact Pebble beaches - The only time the sand is visible is when the tide is right out. On the other hand, Pebbles are very clean - If you drop your sandwich you can pick it up and continue eating it!(which you couldn't do on a sandy beach) - And you won't be cleaning out your car boot for days after your visit!
