"Not only is this town picturesque, it has several interesting things to do there apart from wander along beside the river, which meanders through the middle of the town, shaded in parts by trees, and crossed by little stone bridges, or stopping off to do a little shopping.

There's the famous 1/9th scale model village - take a walk through the main village first, then you'll be able to see just how stunningly accurate it is - and cute!

Birdland Park and Gardens is a little further up the road. They have over 500 birds, but I always stop at the penguins!

The Cotswold Motor Museum is small but uniquely stocked with loads of motoring memorabilia, not just old cars - it will take you quite a while to go through.

There's also the Bourton Model Railway Exhibition and the Cotswold Perfumery, but I haven't had a chance to visit them yet. Bourton on the Water is well worth a visit - and you'll probably need more than just one day!"
