"The Knife and Cleaver is a lovely pub/restaurant overlooking Houghton Conquest Church.
Although it is a pub/restaurant, it is not in the sense of a gastro pub.
The bar menu offers a wide selection of foods for the person who likes good (and expensive) food. With starters such as fresh, hand sliced smoked salmon and fresh fish. The main course is exquisite, as is the dessert, with my favourite being home made white chocolate ice cream.

The restaurant to the rear also offers excellent food, with an A La Carte menu. With poulet and other fineries on the menu, this is the place to eat if you love rich and fine foods.

They also have accommodation in the gardens, in the style of little chalets. If I recall correctly, they are ensuite.

They also have an AA Rosette, and are featured in the AA Good Pubs guide."
