So what really is a 'National Park'? - A phrase often heard by many, but rarely anyone know quite what it quite actually is. A 'National Park' is a large area of beautiful natural scenery which is secluded by the government to protect and promote the interests of locals. Consequently, these 'National Parks' are one of those exceptional, unspoilt land where you can enjoy utmost tranquillity. Namely, one of the most famous national parks is the 'Lake District' – with its distinctive rolling hills and mountains, the reserved villages and the colossal lakes, it has a soothing power to calm the most hot-tempered among us.

The activities in the Lake District ranges from passive to active activities to keep all visitors amused. In the villages, you can purchase various souvenirs and the shopkeepers are always keen to give you directions. The inhabitants certainly live up to reputation of warm hospitality. Certainly, the Lake District makes a perfect 'Kodak' moment, regardless of your ability in photography so be sure to bring a camera along with you. Additionally, you will witness that the lakes are utilize in other ways – from water skiing to kayaking – the extreme outdoor adventures at Lake District are endless.

The relief is composed of valleys and mountains, which were structured by glaciers thousands of years ago. One of the most basic uses of the Lake District is simply hiking.
