A short Sunny Break In Searles, Norfolk

"Early July 2006 we decided to take a short break as the weather forecast was looking good and we all had a few days off. So why not. After looking around many accommodations of youstayuk we found Searles in Hunstanton. We don't usually stay at leisure resorts, but normally rent out cottages or even campsites with minimal entertainment as we make our own. This time we thought we'd take the easier option and we certainly weren't disappointed.
Midweek breaks usually run from Monday to Friday but we were looking for somewhere from Sunday through Thursday. After a brief conversation with an extremely helpful booking agent, we were able to book for the nights we required. Obviously this is dependent on availability but def worth trying if the dates suit you better. We took the 2 hour drive to Hunstanton and upon arriving in the town we decided to take 1/2 an hour on the beach rather than go straight there. This was 730pm but after such a lovely day, the beach was beautiful. The part of the beach I'm referring to is at the Old Hunstanton part of the town. The easiest way to get there is by driving to the car park near the light house and at the far end, there's a path down to the beach. If you get the weather right, this is a lovely palce to spend the day. The sand is lovely, the sea never far away and you have sand dunes to protect you from the wind if there is any.
We then set off for our holiday home. We paid about £260 for our 4 night stay, but considering these are actually 7 birth, that's not bad when you split it between you. In the price you get a pass for the activities and swimming pools etc. There are loads of things put on for guests and I can only talk about the ones we did.
The next morning we set of with all the kit and headed down to the heated outdoor swimming pool. There are sun-beds available but these are first come first served. We took towels to lay of but after a few minutes a family left and we took those beds. The pools are lovely both indoor and our. The water was as warm as a bath!
After a few hours here we headed back for lunch and a siesta. That evening we went to the club for a beer and stayed for about 90 mins. The entertainment is great and all the children were having a fantastic time.
Searles itself is well located, near the small fun-fair and a 2 minutes from the beach. Our accommodation was well appointed with 2 TV's 3 rooms, 2 toilets, fridge freezer, microwave etc. There are kiddies clubs, a golf course, accommodation from camping to large luxury lodges. Basically something for everyone.
We had a great time and will definitely be returning to this type of leisure park and certainly will be back to Searles before the season is over."
