"Melton Mowbray is a great little town in leicestershire. A very friendly place, with interesting people and places. Home of the famous melton mowbray pork pies! dickensons and morris's pork pie shop has been in melton since 1851, making pies, sausages, stilton cheese and many other mouth watering foods. The carnegie museum is worth a visit, full of displays and info on local history and facts. There are some great markets held in the town center on tuesdays and saturdays where you can pick up some great bargains.also melton has a huge carboot sale every sunday with hundreds of stalls, half of which are under cover and all is on solid ground so great in almost any weather(this is held at the cattle market). There are several parks in the area for the kids to enjoy as well as the swimming baths (great for burning off the calories after all those pork pies!). Melton is also host the 'melton show' once a year (usually may bank holiday) where there are hundreds of stalls, tombolas, raffles and shows in the main park area,and a huge fair just acroos the road from that,and many exibitions and berr tents and also live bands that definatly make for a great night! So for a great day out I would recommend you give melton mowbray a look."
