"Spent a lovely day at Brighton Pier; Walked along the sea front - looking at all the seashell shops, tiny restaurants with amazing food and reasonable prices (try Kool Kats - the Stilton & Bacon Jackets are fantastic!)
Then keep going up the seafront to the Pier (you can't miss it - it's quite large and long). The Pier has EVERYTHING for a day out, rides, games, arcades, pub, fast food stall - and if all that stresses you out why not get a soothing head massage.
Starting at the entrance to the Pier - you have fish and chip stalls, seafood stalls, donughut and waffles stalls. heading through onto the Pier your eyes and ears are bombarded with lights, sounds and sights. Have your signature read, get a henna tattoo (can be expensive - but they are very detailed), try your luck at Tin-Pan alley - hook a bag, knock down some cans shot aring over a bottle - go back i time and experience what fun-fairs used to be. Keep going up the Pier and enter the amusements - traditonal sea-side amusements - push penny slots, racing games, one armed bandits - and more modern games - including dance mats and one wonderful game where you have photos taken of your face and the computer scans them in and makes your own pop music video. Totally hilarious and well worth £3. Stop for food at the traditonal fish and chip restaurant halfway up the Pier - they claim to have the 'most interesting ceiling you will ever see' - and it is worth a look!! Moving towards the end of the Pier you find the big rides. Have yourself shot high in the air and over the end of the Pier - upside down. walters, twisters, Ghost Train, Rollercoaster - they're all there. Buy tokens from the token booths - be warned it can be expensive with an average ride being £3.50 per person. More side shows to examine, more amusements - and there is also an Ice-Rink, not real ice, its more like a big slab of marble - but works the same way. Hire of shoes is about £3 - great for the kids if you need a sit down - or go wild and do it yourself!!
If you really need to escape - visit the on Pier pub, has a childrens licence until 8pm, a lovely beer 'garden' overlooking the sea - and has Karaoke Fridays, Sundays and Monday. Also has live bands on other days.
All in all - a full day experience. If you do get through it quicker than we did there are loads of things to do on the surrounding beachfront (bungee trampoline anyone?) and Brighton Sealife is opposite the entrance to the Pier. We loved it and can't wait to go back."
