"I fancied taking the girlfriend for a meal - The one restaurant in Yarmouth I had never tried was Pamela's - What was I missing!? - This has to be the best restauarant I have ever attended! The atmosphere, the food itself and the people all amke for one fantastic evening. The restaurant is located in a well converted barn on the first floor. You are led upstairs and allowed to view a menu whilst the staff bring not only aperitiefs but also free appetisers. The menu is extensive and has some fantastic twists on classic food.
For example, I ordered scallops to start - Ive never seen any so big - perfection all round. Salmon on dill and yoghurt dressing was awesome too. The wine list is well explained with prices ranging from £20 to £95 a bottle. Champagne is also available if required. Having been a wine lover for some time, it was nice to finally find a restaurant that knew what was right with the food it offered.
The dessert took the pie, so to speak - Slow roasted peach with caramel toffee sauce and maple ice cream. This was to die for!
All in all, a meal for two is around £80 - not bad at all for the exceptional service and food which is offered. This is however, by booking only and a strict dress code is observed at all times.
I shall certainly be returning here soon -

Just be careful when choosing your brandy. I heard someone once paid £15.50 for a glass. OOoops. lol.
We have been to Pamela's twice. The food was delicious but the wine was NOT. We pre-ordered a bottle of champagne (Bollinger) at a cost of £80.00. It was BAD. Smelled terrible and tasted awful. We did complain but were treated with disdain and made to feel like we had never ordered champagne before!!! We were repeatedly told, by a waitress who assured us that she 'doesn't drink', that a 'Grande Annee' was a 'Grande Cuvee', and no apology was made to us. Neither the wine waiter (barman) or the proprietor bothered to come and see us.

It is very disappointing to see such comments on a champagne like Grande Annee, specially when I personally tasted the champagne twice after it was brought to my attention that you are not happy with it. Such strong words like BAD and Awful are simply not acceptable when the champagne was perfect. On no account would any one be treated badly in our restaurant or sold anything which does not meet quality standards.

Couldn't agree more! Wonderful food and even better service! Can't fault it!
