Edinburgh Central Hostel is ideally situated with many of Edinburgh's attractions within easy reach. These include: Edinburgh Castle, the most visited historic building with The Great Hall, St Margaret's Chapel, the Stone of Destiny and the Prisoners or War Exhibition. Holyrood Palace is still used by the Queen on State occasions when visiting Scotland and the Scottish Parliament and Dynamic Earth museum are close by.
Princes Street Gardens run parallel to the popular shopping street overlooked by Edinburgh Castle and you can climb the 287 steps to the top of Scott's Monument for a picturesque view of the city.
Rosslyn Chapel was built by William Sinclair, a grand master of the Knights Templar and was seen in the Da Vinci Code. The Chapel is still working and offers guided tours. Calton Hill is just 5 minutes walk from Princes Street with views over the Firth of Forth and a great place to relax free of charge to enjoy the view. If you're a fan of Scottish rugby you can get a tour of Murrayfield viewing the dressing rooms, players' tunnel, Royal box, hospitality suites and the pitch itself.

Hostel Description
Ideally located just a few minutes from Waverley Station, Princes Street and Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh Central Hostel provides the perfect place to stay with 5 star accommodation including self catering facilities, restaurant, licensed Bistro, and conference facilities.
Well equipped, the hostel is ideal for those travelling alone, families and large groups of any age and size with a wide selection of en-suite rooms including single, twin to 8 bedded rooms. The hostel is decorated in a modern style and very safe with key card entry. There are 302 beds in total and each of the rooms has lockers. There are disabled rooms/facilities on each floor and additional bathrooms.
If you are on a limited budget or would just prefer self catering accommodation in Edinburgh, there is a kitchen and dining room available to guests which is very well equipped with cooker, fridges, cookware, crockery and cutlery enabling you to cook delicious home cooked meals.
You can take advantage of being cooked for with the restaurant and Bistro team of professional chefs offering a selection of soups, sandwiches, gourmet coffee and alcohol. Every morning you can set yourself up for the day with a Continental or full Scottish breakfast and have a packed lunch ready prepared for you. The food is made from locally sourced produce giving you a taste of Scotland.
The public areas of the hostel have large plasma TVs showing live TV, promotional videos and announcements. Wifi is available throughout for guests with laptops or there is a 6 coin operated internet station on the ground floor.
Laundry facilities at the hostel include 3 computerised washers and driers and there are Super Safe coin lockers in the lobby for 50p per hour to store luggage.
Conference facilities are available for rent for private gatherings and corporate functions. The multi functional area seats up to 70 with layouts to suit all requirements. Facilities include ceiling mounted projector, remote controlled projection screen, entertainment system with laptop, DVD player and Freeview box, ceiling mounted speakers, dimmer lighting system, modular furniture and air conditioning.
There is an induction loop in the seminar room and reception area for the hearing impaired.
