Fenton Tower is perfectly located for golfers in Central Scotland with over 100 golf courses within 20-30 minutes and 15 within 10 miles including Gullane, North Berwick and Luffness. Muirfield is 3 miles away and St Andrews golf course is an hour and a half by car from the Castle. Our helicopter pad is available for guests ues.
There are a range of sports available nearby: game shooting, river and loch fishing including salmon fishing on the River Tweed, horse riding, bird watching at Bass Rock, horse racing at Mussleburgh, racquet sports, boat and fishing trips from North Berwick, hill walking and cycling.
You can visit medieval castles, nature trails, museums, beaches, restaurants, go shopping in Edinburgh and visit during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

At the cross roads turn left where you will come to the hamlet of Kingston. Turn right at the T-junction and you will find Fenton Tower at the bottom of the hill on the left hand side.

Castle / Stately Home Description
Fenton Tower is an exclusive 16th Century castle offering 5 star luxurious accomodation spread over 5 elegant floors linked by 2 spiral staircases. The battlements at the top of the tower provide spectacular views over east Lothian towards the Lammermuir hills.
The beautifully decorated bedrooms are fully equipped with luxury toiletries, bathrobes, hairdryer, complimentary drinks tray, satellite television and DVD player, WiFi access and direct dial telephones.
The ground floor has a vaulted dining room with a French walnut dining table and can accomodate upto 32 guests, candle lit in the evenings perfect for any dinner party. Just off the dining room the kitchen is available to guests at any time. Golfers and walkers can enter the west of the main tower and store golfing equipment, walking shoes and outdoor clothing.
On the first floor is the Great Hall, a living area offering guests a comfortable and relaxing room with overstuffed sofas, double height oak-beamed ceiling and roaring log fire in the eight foot fireplace. Next door is the library with self service bar where you can enjoy a complimentary gin or whisky. Relax with a book, listen to music or watch a DVD.
The study between the first and second floors comes complete with computer with internet access and conference call facilities.
On the second floor are 2 double bedrooms. The Ruthven Suite has views to the North and West with Provincial Half-tester king size bed, Doulton of Paisley canopy bath and day bed.
The Carmichael suite has views North, East and South with a 200 year old Italian silver-gilt double bed frame, French basins and fireplace.
The third floor suites can be used as either double or twin rooms. The Erskine Suite has views North and West with television hidden in the 18th century linen press, spacious dressing room, ebonised leather-topped desk and fully restored French antique copper bath. The Stewart Suite has views North, East and South with 6' x 6'6” bed with plaid daybed at the foot. The painted 19th century post cupboards are used as bedside tables with Swedish armoire wardrobe. The bathroom is equipped with double basins from a Montmartre house.
The Garret Suite is situated on the fifth floor. Slightly smaller it too can be used as a double or twin room. With private sitting area there is access to the battlements and en-suite shower room. It offers a relaxing getaway with scenic views actoss the rolling East Lothian countryside.
Using fresh local ingredients and with years of expertise, our chefs will create dishes of the highest standard. Lunches to 4 course meals are served in the atmospheric vaulted dining room.
