From the south, M6, leave at J39, turn right through Shap, on leaving village take first right signed Sleagill. Go through village until you reach crossroads, take left turn signed Morland. From North, leaving M6 at J40, Penrith, take A65 East to next roundabout. Take A6 south and after about 1 mile take left turning signed Cliburn and Bolton. Turn right at Cliburn signed to Morland.

Mill Beck Cottage is a traditional cottage, facing the beck, with open fields beyond.
The bedrooms have splendid views overlooking the stream which is a local haunt for ducks and swallows - you may even be lucky enough to see a heron dining on minnows in the summer.
Inside Mill Beck Cottage are two cosy double bedrooms furnished in country style, with reading lamps, a well-stocked tea tray and TV and radio.
The two bedrooms share one excellently appointed bathroom.
The walls of the cottage are covered in an intriguing collection of paintings, old prints and watercolours (some of the latter by Hardre Jackson herself). Many are from distant countries as the Jacksons are well-travelled, Derek Jackson having led many international expeditions during and after service in the Parachute Regiment, equally matched by a career in training and education.
There is an excellent cafe in the village, open all day and serving dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings. Also our village pub with 'pub grub' and other pubs in villages around with more extensive menus.
This quiet and peaceful village and valley is on the Cumbrian Way long distance walk, the Lady Anne Way and the Coast to Coast footpaths.
