A glance at the location map will show you that we are ideally located for exploring Dartmoor and touring Devon and East Cornwall: from the majestic grandeur of the high moor, to the softer beauty of its eastern slopes; from the spectacular coast paths and coves of North Devon and Cornwall to the gentler delights of the south Devon coast; Meldon Reservoir, Morwellham Quay, Buckland Abbey, Tamar Otter Sanctuary, Mortonhampstead Pony Centre, Plymouth Aquarium, Rosemoor RHS Gardens, Lanhydrock, the amazing Eden Project -the list is endless.
Closer to home, Meldon Reservoir, just 2 miles away, offers a beautiful and dramatic setting for fishing, picnics, walking and riding. Lydford Gorge, with its splendid waterfalls and walks, is only a short and scenic drive towards the ancient stannary town of Tavistock and its famous pannier market. Cyclists are well catered for, with trails for all levels of fitness - for example, cycle route 27 is accessed at Meldon. There are picturesque golf courses at Okehampton, Tavistock and Launceston.
Okehampton itself, 3½ miles away, is an historic town offering every amenity, and a fascinating Museum of Dartmoor life. The area generally has a wide selection of inns and pubs offering a wide choice of food, from the cheap and cheerful, to the more special occasion.

Bowerland
Bowerland is steeped in history with notions that the Farmhouse was once used as a transit camp in the war - the Napoleonic War!
These days, Bowerland provides peace and tranquillity in luxury accommodation which has been considerately restored and modernised.
The Farmhouse:
Reputed to be 400 years old, the farmhouse is ideal for the large family sleeping 10-14 people with 4 bedrooms (2 of which are en-suite) plus room for a cot or Z bed in two of the rooms.
Enjoy meals and socialising at the country-style dining room which leads onto a private decked/barbecue area with a flowing water-feature; alongside that is a large lawned area and courtyard, with another seating/water feature area.
The kitchen is a conservatory-style design, with a small coffee/breakfast area off it. This leads into the living room, which has a large inglenook with a wood burner. The entrance porch is also a seating/coffee area, with access to a paved terrace.
Facilities at the Farmhouse include a large American style fridge with ice dispenser, fan -assisted oven, microwave and dishwasher.
The Old Dairy Cottage:
Sleeping 2-6, The Old Dairy Cottage is a charming cottage with a traditional inglenook fireplace with wood burner (to complement the full central heating) plus all the comforts you need for a relaxing break.
The cottage is fully equipped modern facilities including microwave, , television, video and compact Hi-fi.
The cottage also boasts a small conservatory, which in turn gives onto a large private garden with built-in barbecue.
The Hayloft:
Sleeping 2-6, The Hayloft offers open planned living with excellent facilities including televisions, video and compact Hi-fi. There are two bedrooms plus a large sofa bed.
The Hayloft also has the sole use of an enclosed sitting/barbecue area we call "The Hayloft Hangout"!
