Tottergill Farm Self Catering Holiday Cottages are set within 50 acres of grounds in the heart of Cumbria offering the perfect places to stay whether a group of eight, on a family holiday or a couple looking for a romantic retreat. The six self catering cottages have been rated four and five star each full of character and charm with exposed beams, log burning stove and equipped with all the modern conveniences needed for a self catering break.

• Garth Cottage (5 star) has a double and a twin room sleeping 4 each with clock radio, ipod dock and MP3 USB port. There is a contemporary bathroom with bath, separate shower and heated towel ladder. The cottage enjoys panoramic views over the Solway Firth and Scottish hills with enclosed gardens with hardwood furniture and BBQ to make the most of the views and weather.

There is a spacious open plan living room/dining room/kitchen fully equipped with gas hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and in the lounge 37” LCD TV with Freeview, DVD, video, radio and CD player. Guests with laptops can make use of the wireless broadband access.

• Gelt Cottage (5 star) also sleeps 4 in a double and twin room – the double room with TV and DVD player. The contemporary bathroom is decorated in black and chrome with bath over shower. Relax in the lounge/dining room on the large leather sofas with large LCD TV with DVD and video player. There's a radio/CD payer and iDock for an iPod, solid oak dining furniture and wireless broadband.

The kitchen is fully equipped with gas hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer and fridge/freezer and fitted with granite worktops. From the dining room there are double patio doors to the enclosed south facing garden with views of the Lake District hills and hardwood furniture with 4 chairs so you can relax and enjoy the view.

• Gill Cottage (4 star) with sleep three with a galleried double bedroom and single room leading off the main bedroom on the first floor. The double room has a romantic canopy bed, clock radio, iPod dock and MP3 USB with a shower room on the ground floor. The open plan lounge/dining room/kitchen is very well equipped with gas hob, electric fan oven, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. Unwind in the lounge with the large LCD TV, Freeview, DVD, video, radio, CD player and wireless broadband access.

The double patio doors lead to the enclosed garden with views over the reservoir to the Solway Firth and Scottish hills. You can sit and relax on the hardwood furniture and enjoy a BBQ.

• Low Barn Cottage is full of character with its split level open plan layout and kitchen/dining area separated with a traditional hay rack. The lounge is equipped with 37” LCD TV with Freeview, DVD, radio, video, CD player and wireless broadband and kitchen fully equipped with gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

There are two bedrooms, a double and a twin room with contemporary bathroom with bath and shower. The enclosed garden has a stone BBQ and solid wood furniture to help you enjoy the south views over the Lake District hills.

• Mill Barn is an impressive four bedroom cottage sleeping four to eight people with features including exposed beams, fully restored waster wheel and enclosed garden with a 5/6 seater hot tub. From the balcony you can enjoy the views over the countryside. This self catering cottage is perfect for groups with two double rooms, one twin and one full size bunk room available as two bedroom one bathroom in quieter periods.

The open plan living room/dining room/kitchen includes large LCD TV, DVD/video, radio, CD player and wireless broadband and kitchen with cooker, hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The bedrooms include all bed linen, towels and robes and slippers to keep you warm before and after the hot tub. The ground floor includes a double and twin room with large walk in shower room and first floor with double, full size bunk room and bathroom with shower over bath.

• Watson Cottage, due to be completed in March, has been converted from part of the Tower Barn to sleep up to 6 guests in three luxurious en-suite double or twin bedrooms. There is wheelchair access to one of the ground floor bedrooms and rooms equipped with everything you will need including 6 foot double beds, LCD TVs and iPod docks.

The open plan kitchen/dining room has stunning views over the reservoir, Carlisle and the Solway Firth and is equipped to 5 star standards. There is a log burning stove in the living room and patio doors leading out to the enclosed garden.

Pets are welcome in Gill Cottage (max 2), Mill Barn (max 2) and Low Barn (max 2) and there are separate laundry facilities available in Garth Cottage, Gill Cottage and Low Barn Cottage. There is also ample parking.

Guests of Tottergil Farm Cottages can enjoy complimentary use of the leisure facilities at a nearby hotel. To help you unwind there is a 12 metre swimming pool, children's splash pool, whirlpool, fully equipped gymnasium, male and female saunas and mixed steam room. The squash courts, solarium, exercise classes and health and beauty services will have a small charge.
