Knights Haven Bed and Breakfast is ideally situated near Limerick to explore Tralee, Dingle, Killarney, the Cliffs of Moher and Shannon Airport all within 1 hour. Tarbert car ferry is just 7 minutes away.
For the golfers there are some of Irelands and the world's best golf challenges including the champion links golf course at Ballybunion plus courses at Tralee, Adare, Lahinch and Killarney. Five 18 hole courses and two 9 hole courses are within 30 minutes drive of Knights Haven.
If you enjoy walking you can easily explore the area with a footpath to Glin along the River Shannon shore with views over County Clare across the water and Hamilton's Tower where you can go for a swim or just enjoy the spectacular view. There are seats along Tarbert House Woodland Walk and a leisurely walk can take you about an hour.
You can also walk along the Cliff Walk at Ballybunion along the cliffs edge to the 9 daughter's hole, around Virginrock and overlook the nun's beach. Here you can watch the Atlantic hitting the cliffs and is a highly recommended walk.
For horse riders there are numerous riding centres with a wide range of facilities for riders of any age and ability.
Glin has become a popular spot for anglers with many fish and shellfish in the River Shannon with lakes, rivers and streams dominating the area.
Cyclists have many quiet roads they can explore passing through the farming community with villages, castles, historic sites, gardens and rivers along the way.

From Shannon Airport (55 minutes) and Limerick (35 minutes): take the dual carriageway to Limerick following signs for the N69 and Foynes passing through Mungret, Clarina, Foynes, Loughill and Glin. Stay on the N69 for 1 mile after Glin turning left from the N96 and you will find Knights Haven 200 yards off the main road overlooking the River Shannon.
From Killarney, Tralee and Dingle: Take the N69 to Lostowel and Tarbert. From Tarbert turn right at the T Junction towards Glin. Continue on the N69 and take the second right after Kirkby's Lanterns Hotel and you'll find Knights Haven 200 yards off the main road overlooking the River Shannon.
