Self Catering Cottage/Home/Apartment Description
About the Smithy
The former Smithy was built circa. 1830. It was used both as a blacksmith and farrier and served the needs for the surrounding area.
The Smithy has been beautifully renovated and converted to provide bright and airy accommodation. A mix of old and new makes this a charming place. The original Smithy forge is still in place, now with a wood burning stove. Other features are oak beams and a stable door.
The large open plan ground floor gives a spacious lounge / kitchenette / dining area, with a shower room off.
Stairs take you up to the Gallery bedroom. Here there is a very comfortable double bed and storage. A hair dryer is provided.
The lounge has 3 large leather sofas, one which converts to a full size double bed. We also have facilities for one or two put-you -up beds, if required. There is a TV, Satellite TV, Hi-fi and DVD player, so don't forget to bring some movies and music. There are games for you in the sideboard too.
The kitchenette is well equipped. There is a refrigerator, microwave, grill/oven, toaster, kettle and mini hob. There is also an iron and small ironing board.
All towels and bedding are included.
A welcome pack is provided. This usually consists of bread, milk, bacon, eggs etc., all sourced locally. There are small jars of tea, coffee and sugar to get you started.
We'll be pleased to discuss all of your requirements at the time of booking.
The Smithy is strictly NO SMOKING.
Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement only. There is a small charge of £15 per week. Please make sure that your dogs are well behaved and that you clear up after them.
