There are many Houses in the area that you should visit including Chatsworth House home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. There's the gardens to explore, model farmyard, adventure playground and shops and restaurant. Haddon Hall is home to the Rutland family and is a medieval manor with restaurant and gardens. Eyam Hall has original tapestries and needlework from the Elizabethan era just waiting to be discovered and there are other National Trust houses in the area.
Locally guests can enjoy walking in the Peaks, hiring bikes or going horse riding. Those that enjoy fishing can spend the day at Ladybower Reservoir.
During the summer there is a range of village activities including Well Dressings and Carnivals. Or visit the Garland Ceremony at the end of May. The agricultural show is held in July at Bakewell and Sheepdog trials in Hope, Bamford and Longshaw. Bakewell Market is held every Monday and there are various farmers markets in the area.

Just 12 miles from Sheffield, turn towards Shatton opposite High Peak Garden Centre and left over a narrow stone bridge. Continue along Shatton Lane and cross the ford following the lane passed Townfield Barn. Continue for another 1/4 mile over the cattlegrid to the farm.

Self Catering Cottage/Home/Apartment Description
Each of the Cottages at Shatton Hall Farm are stone barn conversions and will comfortably sleep four people in a double and twin room. There are laundry facilities, central heating and open fires, television and video player, payphone, BBQ and garden furniture as required. For those with young children we can supply cot and high chair.
The kitchens include electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, and fridge while the tiled bathrooms have baths and over-bath shower. All the linen is supplied and water supplied from the spring.
The Hayloft has a spacious upstairs living room with oak beams where you can relax by the gas flame effect fire. There's an airy kitchen and seating area for up to 8 which is ideal if you have friends staying in the other cottage. The glass door leads out onto the private garden.
Orchard Cottage, next door to The Hayloft, also has a beamed living area with gas flame effect fire. The sitting area is south facing with orchard and tennis courts above the gardens.
Across the farmyard, Paddock Cottage has a car park just before the farmyard and is fenced with east facing terrace and picturesque views of the valley. We would welcome a well behaved dog by prior arrange. You can unwind in the living room by the wood stove with three steps leading to double bedroom and bathroom with the twin room off the entrance hall. Heating is supplied by the night storage central heating.
