There is very easy access to much of Edinburgh and the surrounding area with frequent buses.
You can take a walk through the Meadows to the Royal Mile and go shopping on Princes Street. There's the Old and the New Town to discover with historic buildings and Museums and Galleries.
In August you can visit the Edinburgh Festival which has a whole range of attractions with musical events and the Military Tattoo on the Castle Esplanade.
If you have an interest in Politics you can visit the Scottish Parliament and we are ideally situated for the numerous universities and the EICC.

Mardale Guest House has 3 stars and we'll ensure a warm and friendly welcome. We have 6 rooms on three floors so you can find one that will suit your needs best.
There are 2 double rooms each with en-suite shower and toilet and have space for an extra bed if required. The two double rooms without en-suite have private shower rooms with toilet. There's a family room sleeping up to four with double bed, 2 single beds and en-suite shower and toilet. Finally there's a family room with a double and a single bed which can also be used as a double or twin room.
The rooms are supplied with tea and coffee making facilities, wash hand basin, direct dial telephone, hairdryer, colour television, central heating, towels, some of the rooms also have internet connection and to help you if your stuck for ideas of what to do, you'll find a Tourist Information Pack.
Breakfasts are served between 8am and 8:45am in the airy dining room. There's a choice of cereals and juice from the buffet selection, freshly cooked traditional breakfast and Continental option. Vegetarians are also catered for. Freshly brewed tea and coffee will also be served.
Sorry we are unable to accept children under 5. Check in before 22.00hrs. Check out before 10.00hrs.
