The Helm offers some of the best views of Kendal, the Lake District Mountains and Morecambe Bay. A short walk from the Guest House you will find the local Inn with a great range of alcoholic beverages and locally produced food.
Known as Beatrix Potter country you can visit the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction. With easy access by car or bus to Kendal town centre you can enjoy shopping at the Elephant Yard and there's a great range of high street shops.
If you are looking for a place to eat there's a good choice from Indian, Mexican, Italian, Thai, Chinese and French to choose from.
You can travel to Bowness on Windermere where you can take a cruise on the lake and visit the gift shops. If you enjoy skiing, Kendal has a Ski Slope or you can try out the Climbing Wall. Visit the Kendal Museum, the Brewery Arts Museum and try some Kendal Mint Cake.

From Junction 36 off the M6, take the A65 to Crooklands/Endmoor to Oxenholme. At the sign for Oxenholme Railway Station, turn right and right again at the T-junction after the station. The Glen is the first drive at the top of the hill, immediate right and and you'll see the sign for the Guest House.
From Junction 37, continue for 4 miles towards Kendal. At the crossroad for Oxenholme, turn left and you'll see the Station pub on your left. Turn right and The Glen is the 2nd drive on the left (signposted).

B&B / Guest House Description
Offering a warm and friendly welcome, The Glen Guest House is a high quality accommodation with delicious freshly cooked breakfasts. There are a range of rooms available to suit your needs with single, double and family rooms.
If you are looking for a special room, the Four Poster and double en-suite rooms have the added luxury of Double Jacuzzi/Spa (run by meter) and aromatherapy oils and candles to create the perfect atmosphere. All rooms have colour televisions, CD and DVD players with free access to the DVD library with over 150 titles to choose from.
Each room has en-suite facilities and most have both bath and shower. The family/twin room has scenic views out over The Helm (local walk and view point).
The new larger Hot Tub is a great place to relax and unwind out on the patio even during winter. The water is almost chlorine free and sterilised by ozone and we provide the bathrobes.
Breakfast is served in the dining room with a buffet choice of cereals, juice and fruit which is then followed by a Full English Breakfast. The ingredients are sourced locally with free range eggs, dry home cured bacon and locally produced sausages. We will also cater for vegetarians and there's as much tea, coffee and toast as you like.
