With 12 year's experience of running bed and breakfasts in Ambleside, Keith and Lindsay Morgan will ensure you have everything you need to make your stay as comfortable as possible at Norwood House.
There are eight en-suite rooms available each decorated to a high standard and include single, double, twin, triple and family rooms so you can find one that will suit your needs best. You can unwind and relax easily in the warmth and comfort of the room and take a long hot shower or bath to get yourself ready for a night out. Fluffy towels provided of course. You'll find wine glasses and corkscrew if you'd like a drink before dinner and colour television, radio alarm clock and hairdryer for your convenience.
In the morning you can satisfy your taste buds with a delicious Full English Lakeland Breakfast with top quality bacon and Cumberland sausage sourced locally from Fred the butcher. There are Lakeland Farm eggs, plump mushrooms, juicy tomatoes and all the trimmings.
We are more than happy to cater for Vegetarians too with scrambled eggs on whole-wheat toast, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes and veggie sausage. You can also help yourself to the range of cereals, fresh juice, toast, tea and coffee which should ensure you're set up for the day ahead.

Local Attractions
Both Keith and Lindsay have lots of knowledge of the local area and will be happy to make suggestions or help you decide where to go and what to see.
Keith has lots of experience in Fell Walking and with over 20 years in the Local Mountain Rescue Team can ensure you pick the right walk for your ability and make the most of what the Lake District has to offer. If you need any guide books or maps and packed lunch for groups, you just have to ask.
The views are picturesque in the area with the mountains providing a perfect backdrop including Helvellyn which is one of the highest peaks in England.
Ambleside itself is particularly popular with visitors to the area with lots of places to visit while still retaining its charm and character. Norwood House is just a short walk away from Lake Windermere where you could take a cruise on the Lake, visit the National Trust buildings including the homes of Beatrix Potter and Wordsworth. There are pleasant waterfall walks and gift shops all of which attracts visitors year after year.

From the South:
At Junction 36 exit the M6 Motorway and continue along the A591 to Windermere and Ambleside. After the Ambleside YHA turn left after the traffic lights and continue into Ambleside town centre. You should see the spired church on the left so move into the right hand lane and at the crossroads turn right by the coffee shop. At the top of the car park, turn left opposite the library and left at the next junction. You'll see Norwood House on the right.
From the North:
At Junction 40, exit the M6 at Penrith following the signs for Keswick and Ambleside. As you enter the town centre continue past the Bridge House on the right and Barclays Bank on the left. You'll see the Post Office and Royal Oak Pub on your right and turn right there onto Church Street where you'll find Norwood House at the bottom of the hill on your right.
