The location of Laurel Bank B&B is perfect because you're surrounded by a whole array of things to do. If you're out for the day and need refreshment, you're spoilt for choice with restaurants and cafes. For evening meals there are pubs and restaurants from English, French, Italian, Chinese and Indian (to name a few) to pick from.
If you like walking you can climb a mountain or just take a walk around the area to discover what there is available. Lake Derwentwater offers the chance to take a cruise. If you like shopping you can visit the large market each Saturday or craft and gift shops. The Cars of the Stars museum is a great family day out or you could go to the Cinema or Theatre next to the lake.
For those that like sports you can have a game of mini golf, tennis or visit the Climbing Wall and Activity Centre. There is a playground close to the B&B and swimming at the Keswick Leisure Centre.
The Bed and Breakfast is very close to the historic Castlerigg Stone Circle and guests can feel safe to leave their cars at the B&B as we have private parking available. Public transport offers an easy way to get around so you could travel further to Cockermouth, Workington, Whitehaven and Windermere.
For the Golfer, Threlkeld Hall has an 18 hole golf course with scenic views of the mountains and countryside. Threlkeld village itself is a great place to find pubs and restaurants and a quiet retreat from the town.

From Junction 40 off the M6, take the A66 to Keswick. At the signpost for the slip road to the A591 Keswick/Windermere, continue for half a mile and you'll find Laurel Bank on your right just before the T junction for Keswick and Windermere.
From Junction 36, take the A591 towards Windermere. Continue for 20 miles to Ambleside and about 15 to Keswick where you'll see a sign for Cockermouth. Turn right and you'll find Laurel Bank on your left.
Car parking is available to the left of Laurel Bank up the drive.

Laurel Bank B&B offers guests a warm and friendly welcome. Rodney and Margaret Roper have almost 30 years experience in hospitality and will ensure you have everything you require for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
The 4 star bed and breakfast guarantees a quality place to stay with each room including colour television, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, and clock radio plus all have en-suite facilities. There are two double rooms overlooking the picturesque hills of Latrigg and two superior rooms (double/twin) with charming views over Keswick and Grisedale Pike. Welcome packs are provided which can give you ideas of what you can do while in the area, time tables of the local transport and information on the walking and cycling routes. Rodney and Margaret are also more than welcome to help you with their experience.
For those special occasions we can arrange fresh fruit, champagne or chocolates to be available or if you plan to bring your own, wine or champagne glasses and ice can be requested.
The bed and breakfast doesn't allow smoking within the premises but there is a bench in the garden or porch in front of the B&B where guests can smoke.
Keys are available to guests throughout their stay so you can gain access at anytime. Outside there are stunning views out over the town and hills in the distance and paved area in the garden with table and chairs for guest use. If the weather is good you can also request garden chairs so you can sit back and relax. Cyclists have safe cycle storage and if you do get wet there is are drying facilities.
What better way to start the day than to have a professional chef cook you a delicious breakfast. With buffet choice of cereals, fruit juice, fruit salad, yoghurts, cheese and locally made chutney, Margaret will then cook your breakfast to order. You may only want a boiled egg or you could have a full Cumbrian breakfast. Vegetarians are also well catered for or you may prefer smoked fish. Rodney can also prepare his home made bread which can be enjoyed at breakfast and afternoon tea.
If you're planning a day out and would like a packed lunch we can prepare one for you and flasks can be filled with hot tea, coffee or water if you'd like to donate to the Keswick mountain rescue box.
