The Tarka Trail and Ruby Trail are perfect for walkers and cyclists with more routes available in the area. Fly fishing can be arranged on the river or coarse fishing on the lakes nearby. There are golf courses, leisure centres, guided walks over Dartmoor which is 7 miles away, horse riding and carriage driving close by.
The Hatherleigh Traditional Farmers Market is held every Tuesday and Arts Festival in July. There is the Hatherleigh Carnival on the second Saturday in November.

Price of Peace is just 1 mile from Hatherleigh in Devon providing Bed & Breakfast and Self Catering accommodation in the Old Fishing Lodge and a newly built Scandinavian log cabin both located by the River Torridge with stunning valley views.
The Old Fishing Lodge is an Arts and Crafts accommodation built in 1930 offering the perfect place to relax with a warm welcome including home made cakes and refreshments after your journey. If the weather is nice you can sit out on the veranda or the period lounge where you can unwind with a book, listen to a CD, play the piano, board and card games or watch television. There are views out over the fields and river where you can look out for red deer, heron and kingfisher.
The three bedrooms: Otter, Kingfisher and Salmon are two doubles and one twin room with everything you will need to enjoy your stay including central heating, TV, refreshments, en-suite facilities and picturesque views.
In the morning you can enjoy a delicious full English breakfast served in the dining room while you enjoy the views or plan the day ahead. Tourist information on Devon's attractions and amenities are available if you are unsure of what to see and do.
Built in 2008, the Fishing Hut is a Scandinavian log cabin ideally located for those who enjoy fishing. The cabin has one en-suite double bedroom offering the perfect romantic retreat for a couple with additional bed settee in the lounge if you do have additional guests. There is a lounge/kitchen/diner with all the modern amenities you will require for a great self catering break in Devon, veranda where you can sit and enjoy the views and the wildlife, decking and garden.
Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate dogs or children under 12.
