Just 10 minutes from Cannon Croft, walkers can discover the best of Derbyshire at Man Tor, Kinder Scout and the Pennine Way. There are marked footpaths for all abilities including limestone dales and jagged grit stone edges. If you need a map, we can supply one. Rock climbers have 850 routes at Stanage Edge to choose from with Stanage and Froggatt on our doorstep. There are some of the deepest and longests caving routes in Britain just waiting to be explored.
Hathersage has an outdoor heated pool and you can bring your own bike or hire one to enjoy the traffic free routes for cyclists and horse riders. Golfers can also make the most of the course just 1 mile from Cannon Croft.
Early July to September brings the local custom of Well Dressing where you can discover the 14th century tradition and enjoy the parade.
Hathersage has connections with Charlotte Bronte and you can take part in the Jane Eyre walk, visit the grave of Robin Hood's Little John and we are perfectly situated for Chatsworth House, Hardwick and Haddon Halls and the Caverns at Castleton.
The area also has theatres, art and antique galleries, museums, shops, gardens and tea rooms. There are various places we can recommend to eat at if you don't know where to go, just ask.

Hathersage can be found on the A6187 Sheffield to Castleton road. When you get there, you'll find the George Hotel at the T junction on the B6001 from Grindelford. With the hotel on your right, head towards Castleton for 150 metres, turn right in front of the bridge (you should see the Cannon Croft sign) following the single track road to the top where you will find the car park.

Cannon Croft Bed and Breakfast in Derbyshire is a family run B&B with private parking open all year.
Designed for comfort the en-suite bedrooms available are double, twin or treble occupancy with lots of extras including TV, VCR, clock radio, hairdryer, a well supplied hospitality tray, toiletries and more. To make your stay extra special we can have chocolates, flowers, champagne, cookies or wine waiting for you on arrival at direct cost.
The bed and breakfast has gained an Egg Cup award for the delicious breakfasts we serve - there's a great selection to choose from on the menu including Full English breakfast, fruit, porridge, salmon, eggs and vegetarian alternatives. All the ingredients are sourced locally including pork, eggs, fair trade products and home made marmalades and preserves – some with fruits from the garden.
Cannon Croft has a sun terrace where you can enjoy the spectacular views of the Peak District, garden with pond and the local wildlife. If they weather isn't perfect you can move to the conservatory and enjoy a drink (just remember and bring your own – we can supply the glasses and ice).
Unfortunately we can't accommodate children under 12, pets (we have a cat) or wheelchair users. Ground floor rooms are available, handrails fitted in showers and we are happy to assist blind, partially sighted and hard of hearing guests to the best of our ability.
