Ideally situated, Alderholt Mill is located next to the River Allen, a tributary which joins the River Avon at the town of Fordingbridge. From the Mill there is easy access to the rest of Dorset, West Hampshire, Salisbury, the Wiltshire Downs and the New Forest. A short drive will also take you to the south coast where you can find Bournemouth and Poole.
Milling demonstrations are available between Easter and September where you can enjoy delicious cream teas, buy the freshly milled stoneground wholemeal flour. You can also enjoy the private fishing with grayling and trout the main species in the river. A tackle lock up and bait fridge are available

Flats are only let on a weekly basis during the summer months but short breaks are available at 60% from November to April.
30% deposit required to secure booking with balance due 4 weeks prior to stay. £50 returnable damage deposit required on arrive and refunded after inspection after departure.

Head towards Fordingbridge exiting the M1 at Junction 1 to the B3078. On reaching Fordingbridge continue over the bridge, left at the mini roundabout and along the High Street and right at the sign for Damerham and Sandleheath. In Sandleheath pass the Post Office on your left turning left at the crossroads signposted for Alderholt Mill. You will find the Millon the left hand side at the bottom of the hill over the bridge and car parking opposite.

Self Catering Cottage/Home/Apartment Description
Alderholt Mill is a working water mill restored from the former 14th century mill still producing flour today. The accommodation at Alderholt Mill includes 3 self catering flats which have retained the charm and character of the original buildings with exposed beams but have been furnished with modern facilities so all guests can enjoy a comfortable self catering holiday.
Mid Mill (3 star) is a ground floor flat between the main house and the old mill which will comfortably sleep 2 in the double or twin beds. There are stunning views out over the garden from the large picture window where you can see the pond and meadow beyond. The electric fire and easy chairs in the sitting/dining area provide a great place to relax with TV, radio, CD player and DVD player and in the galley style kitchen there is a microwave, fridge with ice box, cutlery and crockery. From the kitchen there is access to the back garden over the Mill tailrace bridge with the 12ft waterwheel on your left.
Miller's End (3 star) is also a ground floor flat which will sleep 2 in the double bedroom with en-suite facilities (shower over bath). Decorated to a high standard the sitting room has an electric log burning stove, large fireplace and original oak beams throughout giving the flat charm. The kitchen/breakfast room has microwave, fridge/freezer, electric cooker and cutlery and crockery provided. There is a TV, radio, video, DVD and CD players in the sitting room.
The Granary (3 star) will sleep 4 to 6 within the flat which is situated on the first and second floors of the Old Warehouse. The sitting room ceiling is high and oak beamed giving a feel of space and airiness.The top bedroom (triple) has an oak beam at knee height with steps up and over which makes it unsuitable for the less agile. There is part air conditioning for comfort this room also has a separate bathroom with beamed ceiling. Downstairs there is another double room and bathroom (shower over bath) The sitting room is furnished with 2 sofas, and a double sofa bed and a dining area there is entertainment from the TV, radio, video player, DVD and CD player . Off the entrance hall is the fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, crockery and cutlery.
The large garden at Alderholt Mill has a BBQ with plenty of seating available. There is a washing machine onsite for guests to use. Linen is provided and beds will be made up ready for your arrival and heating is provided from the electric storage heaters.
The Bed & Breakfast accommodation at Alderholt Mill includes 3 en-suite doubles, 1 en-suite twin and 1 single room with private toilet and shared bathroom. Each room includes TV, tea and coffee making facilities and radio alarm with central heating throughout, residents lounge and log burning stove. For breakfast you can enjoy a healthy lite bite or a full English we use as much local produce as possible and of course use our own freshly milled flourfor the bread. Guests have the freedom to come and go with a front door key provided and you can bring in your own alcohol as we don't have a liquor licence.
Unfortunately the B&B and 3 flats are not suitable for children under 8 because of the river nearby. Well behaved dogs are welcome in the flats at our discretion.
