Dumfries attractions include Robert Burns House where he lived the later part of his life and Ellisland Farm around 6 miles north of Dumfries where he also used to live. The area has numerous castles and historical attractions including Drumlanrig Castle and Caerlaverock Castle which both have adventure playgrounds to keep the kids entertained.
For panoramic views over Dumfries you have to visit Camera Obscura on the top floor of the windmill tower at Dumfries Museum. Cycling and walking also provide a great way to explore the area with cycling trails at Mabie, Dalbeattie and Ae forests and walking on the beaches and cliffs or the more adventurous Southern Upland Way. If you go walking in the forests you may even be lucky enough to spot red deer, red squirrel, Buzzards and Red Kite.
For a family day out there's the Dumfries Ice Bowl Leisure Complex, Mabie Farm Park, Dumfries and Galloway Aviation Museum and fans of ice cream will be spoilt for choice with over 20 flavours available at Drummuir Farm.
Golfers have a range of courses to choose from including County Golf Club and The Pines Golf Centre just 5 minutes away. Southerness Golf Club Links Course is just 30 minutes from Dumfries.

The family room has a double and single bed with space for a cot. Popular with many guests this room has a view over David Keswick Centre Athletic Track. The twin room is a bright and airy room which will leave you refreshed and there are two single bedrooms, one with an en-suite and the other with a private bathroom. Each room includes tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, TV and central heating. We welcome pets by prior arrangement but guests are asked to bring bedding for them.
Clean and comfortable, Glenure Bed & Breakfast is a non-smoking accommodation with off-street parking for cars and motorbikes and secure garage for storing cycles. A drying room is available for guests and video library and iron and ironing board if you would like them.
