Within Peak Park there are four golf courses, a driving range, hang-gliding/para-gliding school and helicopter rides as well as walking with paths crossed by the Pennine Way, cycling, rock climbing and pot holing. Cyclists and horse riders don't have to worry about traffic on the traffic free routes.
The Bed and Breakfast is within easy reach of many attractions including Castleton Caverns, the Derwent Dams, Blue John Mines, Speedwell Cavern and the village of Castleton. Visit Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Eyam Hall and Lyme Park.
The spa town Buxton is 10 minutes drive from High Croft with one of the most beautiful Opera houses in the world and host to annual festivals and theatrical productions.
For a family day out there are many local attractions including Owls and Otters, the Donkey Sanctuary, Eyam Hall and Craft Centre and Chatsworth House and Park. Alton Towers is just under an hour away or there's Blackbrook Zoological Park, Tittesworth Reservoir and Carsington Reservoir.

Exit the M1 at Junction 29 turning left onto the A617 towards Chesterfield then the A619 to Baslow. From Baslow take the A623 for Stockport/Manchester meeting the A6 and turn right at the roundabout. Continue for 1 mile and turn left for Chapel-en-le-Frith just before the dual carriageway and drive through the town centre to the B5470 towards Whaley Bridge. After 1 ½ miles there is a sharp bend right indicated by three black/white chevron signs on your left. The turning for High Croft Guest House is between the second and third chevron.
Exit the M6 at Junction 19 turning right onto the A556 to the M56 at Junction 8. Follow the M56 onto the M60 at Junction 3 for Stockport and at M60 Junction 1 continue straight ahead onto the A5145 following signs for the A6 Buxton. Follow the A6 through Hazel Grove and Disley towards Whaley Bridge (10 miles from Stockport). From the A6 turn right onto the A5004 at the roundabout towards Whaley Bridge and follow the A5004 through Whaley Bridge to the traffic lights. Turn left at the traffic lights onto the B5470 towards Chapel-en-le-Frith and follow the B5470 for 2 miles passing Chapel Golf Club on the left and Hanging Gate pub on your right. High Croft entrance is 50 yards past the Hanging Gate on your right.

Set within 1 ½ acres of tranquil landscaped gardens, High Croft Guest House offers a 5 star place to stay in Derbyshire with views overlooking the Peak District National Park. The late Edwardian house still retains its original charm and character with its mix of Elizabethan panelling, Tudor beams and banister influenced by Charles Rennie Macintosh.
You will be warmly welcomed by hosts Elaine and Steve and find rooms of the highest quality. Each room has en-suite facilities with bath and or shower, high quality duvets, linen and soft furnishings, flat screen LCD digital TV, tea and coffee making facilities, clock radio alarm, hairdryer and information to help you make the most of your stay.
• The Atholl Suite has a romantic King size four post bed, period furniture and stunning views over the golf course and the Peak Park. The bathroom is wood panelled with a huge bath and large shower cubicle with power shower. There is also the option to accommodate another two guests in this room on the double sofa bed.
• Eccles Pike has a triple aspect view over the gardens, countryside and Eccles Pike in winter. With a King size four poster bed and en-suite shower room there is also the option of accommodating another two guests on a double foldaway bed.
• Castle Naze is offers the same views as The Atholl Suite situated at the front of the house. There is a King size double bed and en-suite shower room.
• Fairway has views of the third fairway on the golf course to the hills. There is a standard double bed and en-suite bathroom with shower.
As you enter the Reception Hall there is an open fireplace and full length windows. In the Sitting Room you can relax on the comfortable sofas, watch the TV or a DVD. There is a library of DVDs to choose from and games and books.
In the morning you can enjoy a freshly prepared cooked breakfast served in the dining room. If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know in advance so we can cater for them. High Croft only offers bed and breakfast accommodation but there are many places to eat and drink within 3 to 20 minutes walk for evening meals. We'd be happy to book a table for you in advance.
Guests are welcome to take a walk through the 1 ½ acres of mature gardens with a summer house and large decking area. There are benches around the garden so you can relax and enjoy the views or just enjoy the best of the weather as you relax on a sun lounger. Located next to the Comb Reservoir, you can go sailing, fishing or just enjoy a walk. Chapel-en-le-Frith Golf Course is just at the bottom of the garden.
We welcome walkers and cyclists to the guesthouse offering facilities for drying wet and muddy clothes and boots. There are maps and we can provide packed lunches with advance notice. There's a garage for safe storage for bicycles and an emergency repair kit if required. Iron, washing machine and drying facilities are available in the utility room.
There is ample private car parking at High Croft Guest house. If you drive anti-clockwise around the house to the front door, you can stop to offload cases and continue round the house to the car park just adjacent to the garage. Please drive carefully as our cat Trampy is usually outdoors.
