Lochbuie is an area rich in history, wildlife, geology and scenery with seawater lochs, wild hilltops, wooded valleys and tranquil beaches. Walkers have open access to the hills and shore with Craig Ben (698mtr), Ben Buie (717mtr) and Laggan (405mtr) or just take a stroll along the shore paths.
Stone circles and standing stones date back to pre historic times. The 15th century Moy Castle is a typical Scottish tower house on the shore of Lochbuie and Lochbuie House dates back to 1786/88.
Sea and golden eagles, otters, wild goats, deer have all been spotted in the local area. Just 3 miles away, Laggan beach is a large sandy beach with smaller beaches on the south side of Loch Buie. There is a boat on Loch Spelve for sea fishing or bank fishing can be arranged on Loch Uisg. Brown trout can be caught in hill lochs. We have four mountain bikes, a windsurfer and a two person Canadian canoe for those who wish to make use of them.

From Lochaline-Fishnish or Oban-Craignire ferries, turn left onto the main road and continue out of Craignire towards Iona for 6 miles. Turn left towards Lochbuie and Croggan following the road over Ardura hill and along the shore of Loch Spelve for 5 miles.
At the end of Loch Spelve, turn left towards Croggan and Barrachandroman is on your right after 400 yards (the only 2 white houses in the area).

Self Catering Cottage/Home/Apartment Description
At Barrachandroman you have the choice of 4 star Self Catering or Bed & Breakfast accommodation on the Isle of Mull. You can escape from it all surrounded by the sea, mountains, wildlife, walking, fishing and relaxation.
• The Farmhouse dates back to the 1700 and 1800s and will sleep up to 8 Self Catering. The sitting room to the rear of the house is south facing with lots of sun but an open fireplace to keep you warm during the colder months. You can relax in front of the TV with Sky Free to View, video or DVD. If you're not sure what to see and do, tourist information and maps are provided.
There are four bedrooms: one double, two rooms with two single beds and the fourth bedroom with bunk beds. All linen is provided and there are tea making facilities.
The kitchen is very well equipped with fully fitted pine units, an oil fired AGA, electric four ring hob, Baumatic oven and grill, microwave oven, refrigerator (additional fridge/freezer in the laundry room), dishwasher, many electrical appliances, enough utensils, cutlery and glasses for twelve and even cook books to give you some inspiration. If you'd like to have food delivered we'll be happy to arrange deliveries of meat, groceries, vegetables and shellfish ready for your arrival and a meal provided in the Farmhouse on your first night by prior arrangement.
The dining room will seat 8 with a fireplace and electric coal effect heater, fondue set, heated electric tray, sherry, wine, brandy, champagne and liqueur glasses and decanters.
For young children there is one cot and one travel cot with bedding, one high chair, a radio baby alarm, all terrain push chair, a potty and toilet stool, one tablet type sterliser, blanks for electric sockets and we will be happy to babysit free of charge if you give 48 hours notice.
The bathroom has a bath, heated towel rail, shower point, electric hairdryer, heated hair rollers and hot water bottles and a separate shower room with electric pump shower. The laundry room just off the sitting room has a washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board, iron, deep freeze and refrigerator. Under the stairs is a Dyson vacuum cleaner, mop, buckets, barbeque charcoal, spare light bulbs and cleaning materials.
Make the most of the good weather with tables and chairs in the garden. There's a barbeque, tent and inflatable paddling pool, windsurfing board, 17ft boat on Loch Spelve and a clay pigeon trap.
• Bed & Breakfast accommodation is available in The Barn. The two double bedrooms are both on the ground floor with the sitting room, dining room and kitchen on the first floor. One double bedroom has a private bathroom and shower and the second double bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with its own exterior entrance and use of the twin bedded room alongside as a dressing room. There is a colour TV and tea and coffee making facilities in both rooms and guests are free to make use of the TV in the sitting room.
Meals are served in the mahogany panelled dining room with a full Breakfast menu including kippers and smoked haddock available from 7am to 11am. There is central heating throughout and guests are free to come and go throughout the day.
With 2 acres of fenced gardens, children and dogs can play safely. Tables and chairs are throughout the garden so you can make the most of the views and relax with a drink. There is a pond and a burn running through the garden with mature trees and shrubs.
