Ripon can be found 15 miles away with its Cathedral, Harrogate 20 miles away with floral gardens and the historical City of York 30 miles away with a range of historical and modern attractions. Close to Covill Barn is the World Heritage site of fountains at Abbey, Newby Hall, Skipton, Grassington, Stumps Cross Caverns, Brimham Rocks and How Stean Gorge.
For places to eat and drink in the area, there is a good selection of restaurants and pubs just a short drive away.

From the M1/A1 (South): Exit at Junction 59 heading to Knaresborough. Continue through Knaresborough on the B6165 to Pateley Bridge via Ripley crossing the A61.
From the M1/A1 (North): Exit at Junction 61 continuing to Ripon, take the B6265 to Pateley Bridge.
From the West A65 or A59: Head to Skipton taking the B6265 to Pateley Bridge via Threshfield, Grassington and Greenhow Hill.
From Pateley Bridge: Turn right from the North or South (left from the West) at the petrol filling station on Low Wath Road. Continue past Nidderdale High School, along the edge of Gouthwaite Reservoir to Ramsgill passing the Yorke Arms. Continue over the hump back bridge and turn right along the single track road turning right at the end onto the private road along the East of the reservoir. Pass over 3 cattle grids and over the bridge where you'll find Covill Barn on your left.

With stunning views over Nidderdale and the Gouthwaite Nature Reserve, Covill Barn offers both bed and breakfast and self catering accommodation. The 18th century Cow Mistle and Granary have been restored and still retain the character of the original building with modern facilities and features for a comfortable stay.
Welcoming tourists, walkers, cyclists and motorists, Granary Cottage provides weekly let and short winter self catering breaks. The self contained cottage will sleep 2 in the twin bedroom with additional sleeping for 2 in the twin annexe room with en-suite sharing the kitchen and living area in the Granary.
The Bed and Breakfast accommodation includes a double and twin room within the main house with full en-suite facilities, TV and tea and coffee making facilities. The rooms have picturesque views over the Nature Reserve to the Dale and guests can relax on the patio outside by the stream.
There is free cycle storage available and if you'd like a packed lunch just let us know the day before so we can have one ready for you.
