Self Catering Cottage/Home/Apartment Description
For a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Highdown Farm provides a tranquil location within easy reach of Exeter, the moors and coastline. A working organic farm, there are 3 self catering cottages available sleeping 2 – 7 open all year round.
The Cider Barn is a barn conversion offering a romantic retreat for 2. A cot and high chair can be provided but unfortunately the Barn isn't suitable for toddlers. The open plan ground floor is fully equipped with sofa, DVD player and colour TV in the lounge where you can unwind in front of the cosy oil fired stove during the colder months. The kitchen is equipped with electric oven, hob, fridge, washer/dryer and microwave and the bathroom with bath, power shower, wash basin, toilet and airing cupboard can also be found on the ground floor. You can retreat to the upstairs galleried bedroom with double bed beneath the beamed ceilings adding charm to The Cider Barn.
Poormans Cottage adjoins the Old Farmhouse and is named after one of the neighbouring fields. The cottage will sleep up to 4 with cot and high chair also available offering the perfect self catering accommodation for a family with king size double and bunk beds. Bright and airy you will feel refreshed and can enjoy the comfort of the sitting room with sofas, colour TV, video and DVD player. The fitted kitchen/dining room is fully equipped for a perfect break with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, microwave, electric cooker, table and chairs. The bedrooms and bathroom can be found upstairs with shower over bath, wash basin and toilet.
The Old Farmhouse is the largest sleeping 7 people with 2 available highchairs and cots. The four bedrooms include king size double with en-suite shower room, a single room and 2 twin rooms with zip link beds if you require doubles. The bathroom too is upstairs with shower over bath, wash basin and toilet plus another toilet on the ground floor. The spacious lounge has comfortable sofas, colour TV, video, DVD player and inglenook fireplace with a large wood burner (logs provided free to keep you warm during the colder months). The well equipped kitchen includes dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, electric cooker plus a dining area with pine table and chairs.
Central heating is provided throughout each cottage and the picturesque panoramic countryside views are perfect if you want to watch the sun rise. The cottages are situated away from the busy traffic and noise so you can relax out in the cottage gardens safely. Linen, duvets and towels are included (except duvets for the cots) and if you fancy getting away from the children for a little while, babysitting can be arranged. You'll find plenty of parking available outside the cottages and unfortunately as this is a working farm, pets cannot be accommodated.
