The Lord Crewe Arms Hotel in Blanchland is nestled into Derwent Valley within the North Pennines, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty close to Newcastle. Dating back to the 12th Century the hotel is reputed to be haunted by the sister of Tom Forster who plotted the 1715 Jacobite Rebellion and the haunted area can be visited today.
Individually furnished and decorated, the rooms at The Lord Crewe Arms Hotel are comfortable with en-suite facilities, tea and coffee making facilities, direct dial telephone, radio, ironing board and iron, trouser press and colour TV. There are single, double, twin, triple and family rooms sleeping 3 and 4 so you can find a room to best suit your needs and children and pets are welcome.
Dining in the Lord Crewe Restaurant is something you will remember with top quality food and service. The room dates back to the 18th century with fireplaces at each end and candlelight to capture the atmosphere. There are stunning views over the Durham High Fells with the gardens floodlit at night. If you have any special dietary requirements a menu can be arranged in advance. You can also enjoy a drink at the Crypt Bar, morning coffee, afternoon tea and bar meals.
If you are planning your wedding day, The Lord Crewe Arms can provide the perfect location with a unique backdrop. Licensed to hold Civil Wedding Ceremonies, the staff can provide you with a high quality service with seating for up to 65 guests in the Lord Crewe Restaurant and a wide selection from the wedding menu and wine list. For more intimate dining, seating can be provided for up to 14 in the private dining room with bridal suite and flowers arranged to your colour scheme. More information can be provided and you can also visit to discuss your individual requirements.
For business guests we have conference facilities available for day and residential courses. Seating can be provided for 14 in board room style and 24 in theatre style with flip chart, markers, writing paper, pens, pencils, video, overhead projector, iced water and cordials provided. The residential packages include overnight accommodation, full English breakfast, morning coffee and biscuits, buffet lunch, afternoon tea and biscuits and dinner from the a la carte menu.
