Canon Grange House is located in Wells, Somerset at the foot of the Mendip hills with the cathedral buildings dating to the 13th-15th centuries. The west front is ornamented with statues and the associated Vicars Close has preserved 14th century houses with tall chimneys. Bishop's Palace is across the green with moat home to swans that will ring a bell when hungry.
Canon Grange House provides the perfect base to explore the numerous local attractions including Wookey Hole, Cheddar Caves and Clarke's Village. Wells Golf Club can be found just 1.5 miles from the house.

Note: Following your satnav to Sadler St will take you to the one-way system and you will need to drive round Wells again.
From the East (London/South East): Take the M3 and A303 heading to Warminster (bypass) then Frome (bypass) and the A361 for Shepton Mallet (through the middle following A371 Wells signs). Continue through Croscombe and after a mile you'll see a sign for Dulcote, turn right off the main road.
*Zigzag through the village, over the hill and down into Wells via Tor Street. At the first T junction, turn left and 15 yards later keep left (off the main road) to St Andrews Street. You'll see the Cathedral on your left. Drive under the arch onto Cathedral Green and park down the left of the street. Canon Grange House is at the end, 2nd doorway on the left on the green.
From South West M5 J23 to A39 (Glastonbury bypass): Follow signs for Wells and on entering Wells turn right at the first large roundabout driving out of town along the A371 for Shepton Mallet. After 1 mile turn left off the main road sign posted for Dulcote. Then follow * above.
From the West M5 J21 via A371 (Cheddar): On entering Wells, continue straight ahead at the first, second, third and fourth traffic lights. At the fifth turn right at the T junction (looking out for Cathedral school signs).
**Drive 80 yards and turn hard left looking for Cathedral school signs. Drive up the Liberty, pass the school on the left and turn right at the top, down East Liberty and turn right onto St Andrew Street in 50 yards (where the road turns left). You'll see the Cathedral on your left, drive under the arch onto Cathedral Green and park down the left of the street. Canon Grange House is at the end, second doorway on the green.
From the North (Bristol/Bath): Take the A39 and keep left at the first traffic lights at the bottom of Bristol Hill then follow ** above.
Parking usually available after 5pm. If there are no spaces drive to the turning bay and walk to the house and we'll offer advice.

Within the heart of Wells, Canon Grange House provides high quality 4 diamond accommodation within 5 period bedrooms. With Cathedral views in two of the bedrooms and exposed beams each room has been tastefully decorated. There are en-suite facilities or private bathroom and many of the rooms can be used as either a double or twin with zip link beds.
When you wake up you can enjoy a delicious freshly made breakfast and have views to the west front of the Cathedral. Made to order there's fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, fresh orange juice, cereals, brown toast and tea or cafetiere coffee followed by a Full English, Vegetarian Full English or the speciality of scrambled eggs with fresh Scottish smoked salmon. Those with special dietary requirements can be catered for.
