Budemeadows is located just 1 mile from the beaches of Widemouth Bay well known for its surfing of which there are a number of surf schools. Other activity centres provide rock climbing, abseiling, kayaking, mountain boarding and pony trekking.
Three miles north are Bude and Stratton with Bude swimming and leisure pool, 18 hole golf course, sailing, surfing and wind surfing. Coarse and sea fishing are also within easy reach. Tamar lakes offer dinghy sailing, wind surfing, fishing, scenic walks and wildlife.
To the south the coastline is rockier but hides secluded beaches, coves and provides an area to spot seals. The southwest coastal path offers walkers an excellent opportunity to explore the quieter parts of Cornwall.
Launceston, Bodmin, Bodmin Moor, Padstow and Rock are within easy reach or take a day trip to the Eden Project near St Austel or the North Devon attractions of Clovelly, the Milky Way and the Big Sheep.
The quieter Spring and Autumn seasons without children offer a relaxing atmosphere on the coastal path, moors, wooded valley walks, Camel Estuary and Tamar.
There are National Trust Properties and gardens and a range of wildlife including birdlife, badgers and foxes, shrews, field mice, moles, voles, stoats and weasels. Rabbits, deer and llama can be seen on the surrounding fields.

The easy route: exit the M5 at Junction 27 signposted for Barnstable. Follow the A361 to the roundabout before Barnstable. Take the A39 signposted Bideford, Bude passing Bideford, Clovelly and Kilkhampton. Stay on the A39 and continue south for 3 miles. Budemeadows is signposted on the main road at the top of the rise just after the signpost for Widemouth Bay. Pull into the lay by on the left and the campsite entrance is almost immediately on your left.
The shortest route (from London and the south east): stay on the M5 passing the Exeter services. Exit at Junction 31 near the top of the hill to the A30 signposted Okehampton. Exit the A30 at Okehampton and continue through the town. At the top of the long hill turn right to the A3079 signposted 'Bude, Holsworthy'. Avoid Holsworthy town by turning right onto the A3072 signposted Bude. Continue straight ahead at the mini roundabout and turn right to the A3072 for Bude. At the A39 at Stratton turn left – do not follow the Bude signs. Stay on the A39 and continue south for 3 miles. Budemeadows is signposted on the main road at the top of the rise just after the signpost for Widemouth Bay. Pull into the lay by on the left and the campsite entrance is almost immediately on your left.
Longer route (better roads): stay on the M5 passing the Exeter services. Exit at Junction 31 onto the A30 for Okehampton. Leave the A30 approximately 5 miles past the Launceston exit (ignoring signs for Bude) on the A395 signposted for North Cornwall, Camelford, Wadebridge. Turn right at the first roundabout, cross over the flyover, turn left at the second roundabout and follow the North Cornwall sign. Take the second right signposted for Bude at Hallworthy. At the giveway sign to the A39 The Atlantic Highway and continue on the A39 heading north for approximately 12 miles passing through Wainhouse Corner and Poundstock. Shortly after Poundstock look out for the Budemeadows sign on the main road after the sign to Widemouth Bay on the left. Pull into the lay by on the right and the entrance is at the far end of the lay by just before it rejoins the A39.

Camping Site Description
Budemeadows Touring Park in Cornwall is ideally located with 9 acres of landscaped parkland close to many Cornish attractions. Pitches have 16 amp hook-ups enabling you to run lights and heating simultaneously during the colder months and hard standings perfect for motor homes and camper vans if the ground is wet.
Budemeadows is open all year round and has a number of facilities for guest use including heated toilet blocks with free showers and plenty of hot water.
In mid and high season you can visit Grumpy Pete's Bar where you can enjoy a fresh coffee, Italian hot chocolate , beer, cider or wine. Spend time in the heated pool from mid to high season which catches the sun all day and has sun loungers. During the summer there are morning and evening meals available from a breakfast fry up to daily specials.
For a little entertainment there is a range of games and activities. Play table tennis, chess, table football and pool or just relax in front of the TV.
Grumpy Pete's Bar is WiFi enabled if you're bringing your laptop or PDA (Vista users may have connectivity problems). Tickets can be purchased from the bar providing login details. If you don't have your laptop there are 2 terminals available for guest use whether adult or child.
