For the more active there's coarse fishing 4 miles away, Carsington Water for watersports 13 miles away, Dovedale perfect for walkers 15 miles away and Waterworld Stoke-on-Trent 16 miles away.

From the M1 or M6, take the A50 towards Uttoxeter. As you near Uttoxeter you will reach a roundabout with Alton Towers signposted to the left if coming from Stoke (M6) or right if coming from Derby (M1). Follow the B5030 and turn off to the left after the JCB factory when the Alton Towers signs tell you to. Follow the B5032 past Denstone village and turn left over the humpback bridge (following signs for Alton Towers). Lower Micklin Farm is about 1 mile from the hump back bridge on the left.

Self Catering Cottage/Home/Apartment Description
For high quality, clean and comfortable accommodation, Lower Micklin Self Catering cottages provide the perfect place to stay ¼ miles from Alton village and 5 minutes from Alton Towers.
Each self contained cottage is spacious with a fully equipped kitchen including pots, pans, cutlery, four ring electric hob, oven, toaster, kettle, microwave, fridge and icebox. There's a large shower room and lounge/dining room with colour TV and DVD player. With double glazing and central heating throughout the cottages are warm and welcoming whatever the season. Towels and linen are provided in each.
Cottage 1 sleeping a maximum of three couples, this cottage is on a single floor with 2 double bedrooms and sofa in the living room sleeping another two people. There's a kitchen area, sitting area and shower room.
Cottage 2 has a downstairs kitchen area, living area and shower room with a double bedroom and second bedroom with bunk beds and single bed to sleep a total of 5 people.
Cottage 3 is similar to cottage 2 with kitchen area, living area and shower room on the ground floor and upstairs a large room with a double bed and 3 single beds. A double sofa in the living room provides an extra double bed to sleep a total of seven people.
Cottage 4 is on a single floor sleeping a maximum of 6 people. There are 2 bedrooms – one with 2 sets of bunk beds, kitchen area, sitting area and shower room. With wide doors this cottage is suitable for wheelchair access.
Lower Micklin is our family home and we treat the whole site in the same manner as our home. No smoking is allowed in the cottages however you can smoke outdoors and unfortunately we can't accept pets. Please contact us if you have any questions and we'll be happy to help.
