From the East – exit the M4 at Junction 35 following signs for Porthcawl on the A473 to its junction with the A48. Follow the A48 for 3 miles to the junction with the A473 following signs for Porthcawl where there are 7 roundabouts. At the 7th roundabout take the second exit for Laleston and Bridgend. The Great House is approx 30 yards beyond the mini roundabout on the right. Turn into Well Street and immediately left into the carpark.
From the West – exit the M4 at Junction 37 and take the first exit at the slip road signposted for Pyle. There's a roundabout after 400 yards – take the third exit signposted for Bridgend. Continue straight across the next roundabout and at the next one take the first exit for the A473 to Bridgend. At the next roundabout 50 yards ahead, continue straight ahead and you'll find the Great House 30 yards beyond that roundabout.
From Cardiff airport – take the B4265 west signposted Llantwit Major. Travel through Wick at St Brides Major following signs for Bridgend. At the B4265 and A48 junction turn left towards Porthcawl. At the second roundabout take the second exit for Laleston and Bridgend and The Great House is approx 30 yards beyond the next roundabout.

Hotel Description
The Great House Hotel and Conference Centre is a 15th Century house carefully restored to retain much of the charm and character of the original building but providing many modern facilities to ensure each guest has a friendly and relaxing stay.
Each of the eight bedrooms have been individually decorated and include en-suite facilities, bathrobes, colour satellite TV, direct dial telephone, trouser press, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities. Free wireless internet access is available in the hotel reception area and room service is available from 8am to 10pm. During the warmer months you can sit out on the patio before dinner with a drink or lounge by the open fires in winter.
For a little extra help with relaxation the hotel has a small health suite including sauna, Jacuzzi, multi gym, running machine and air stepper for guest use.
Awarded 2 AA Rosettes, Leicester's Restaurant offers high quality fine cuisine. Dishes are made from the freshest local Welsh produce including organic ingredients and fish caught in nearby Porthcawl.
Weddings:
Licensed to hold civil wedding ceremonies, The Great House provides the perfect venue for your big day with a dedicated staff on hand to offer help and advice. The three licensed rooms include The Great Hall Restaurant holding 50 guests, The Prince of Wales Suite holding 40 guests and The Leicester Room holding 30 guests. With so many nooks and crannies the 15th Century hotel provides the perfect backdrop for photographs with walled gardens and old village church offering a unique and romantic setting.
For a wedding reception or function The Great House Hotel is ideal with a range of rooms including The Leicester Room seating 35, The Tapestry Room more intimate seating 10 people for a small function, The Prince of Wales Suite seating 45 and the Great House Restaurant seating 80 for the wedding breakfast with a formal table setting.
The standards of the cuisine at the hotel are very high with comfortable seating and dishes made from the freshest local Welsh produce. Example wedding menus are available on our website but we are happy to compose a menu tailored to your requirements. We are also happy to cater to any special diets.
A tailor made seating plan can be arranged to suit your needs with table flower arrangements in your colour scheme at no extra cost. Our wedding receptions also include the loan of white linen napkins, silver cake knife and cake stand.
