Located in the Cumbrian countryside, Artlegarth Country Log Cabins provide the perfect base from which to explore the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Eden Valley with buzzards, curlews, woodpeckers and red squirrels regularly sighted.
Ravenstone is situated near Kirkby Stephen in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Lying between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District national parks, there are many things to see and do including:
There's hill walking on the Howgill Fells, national parks and coast-to-coast walk passing near Ravenstone. You can fish on the rivers Eden, Belah and Lune or in the Lake District. There's golf, tennis, classic coach tours, cycling, bird watching, crown green bowling and a wealth of history with many churches in the area.
The Settle – Carlisle railway is the most attractive line in the UK with tickets available on the train. The tourist information centre in Kirkby Stephen has a variety of information on things to see and do. The Lake District is 7 miles away and Yorkshire Dales with limestone walls and field houses.

Directions
From the M6:
Exit at Junction 38 (Tebay) and follow the A685 towards Kirkby Stephen. After 6 miles and after passing through Newbiggin-on-Lune you will see Ravenstonedale signposted on your right. Enter the village and follow the sign for Sedbergh. After leaving the village you will reach a Y junction, keep right for Artlegarth and continue over the cattle grid. Less than a mile ahead you will see the sign for Artlegarth Lodges on your left.
From the A1:
Take the A66 from Scotch corner to Brough and turn south at Brough on the A685. Follow the A685 towards Kirkby Stephen. 4 miles after Kirkby Stephen you will see Ravenstonedale signposted left. Turn left onto the minor road to the village and follow the sign for Sedbergh. After leaving the village you will reach a Y junction, keep right for Artlegarth and continue over the cattle grid. Less than a mile ahead you will see the sign for Artlegarth Lodges on your left.

Lodge Description
Artlegarth Country Log Cabins offer 3 cabins each decorated to a very high standard with central heating throughout keeping them cosy during the colder months. The location is perfect for a romantic holiday.
Each cabin has 3 good sized bedrooms to sleep a family of 6: king size double with colour TV, bunk room for children/teenagers and a twin room. The lounges include 3 piece suite, widescreen TV and Sky Free2View, video, DVD and music system.
Mallard and Curlew Lodges will sleep 4 adults, 2 teens/children and 1 baby. They are contructed from the finest pine logs, local stone and black slate roof. Curlew is all on one level. Kitchens are fully equipped with full electric cooker, microwave, electric kettle, toaster and fridge. Dining rooms contain a large oak table seating 6. There is a bathroom with shower over bath. All bed linen is provided but you will need to bring towels. The laundry rooms include washer/dryer machine, iron and ironing board and there is a hairdryer.
Relax outside with table, chairs, barbeque area with picnic bench and plenty of space. Mallard has space for 3 cars and Curlew can park 2. Pets are welcome for a surcharge in Mallard Lodge. There is smoking allowed in Mallard Lodge but not in Curlew Lodge.
Lapwing Lodge has been constructed from Danish pine logs with local stone base and slate roof. Sleeping 4 adults and 2 teens/children, this lodge has a separate living room with log effect fire, sofas, chairs, wide screen TV, Sky Free2View channels, video, DVD, MP3-CD music system and bookcase with books, DVDs and videos.
The kitchen is fitted with electric hob/oven, microwave, fridge, extractor fan, kettle and toaster. The bathroom is fully tiled with spa whirlpool bath, shower over bath and heated towel rail.
Both the king size bedroom and twin room offer spectacular views over the fells and hills and provide ample storage. Bed linen is provided but you will need to bring your own towels (overseas guests will have towels provided free of charge). The laundry room includes washer/dryer with outside lines for drying and iron and ironing board.
Outdoors you can make the most of the view with table, garden chairs, barbeque area and picnic bench. There is parking for 3 cars. On the decking there is a private sunken hot tub which can be used for an extra charge.
No pets and no smoking are permitted in this lodge and children over 5 are welcome.
