Campbeltown is located at the foot of the Kintyre Peninsula with views to the Islands of Gigha, Islay and Jura, the Irish Coast on the West and Isle of Arran to the East. There are many leisure facilities in Campbeltown including the Art Deco Cinema, The Hertitage Centre, the Owl Centre, Aqualibrium with its 25m swimming pool, gym and library.
There are many things to see and do including golfing: Machrihanish links course, Machrihanish Dunes, Dunaverty, Carradale and Tarbert Golf Course with further courses available by ferry to Gigha, Islay and Arran. Whisky enthusiasts won't be disappointed with Campbeltown. There's the unique Springbank Distillery and the reputedly haunted Campbeltown Distillery. Explore the Kintyre Peninsula on foot with the Kintyre Way coast to coast walk stretching 103 miles from North to South. For a challenging walk there is Mull of Kintyre Lighthouse with scenic views. For runners and joggers there are a number of routes around the hotel with quiet scenic coastal roads for cyclists and lots of off-road routes including Trans-Kintyre.
Horse riding and pony trekking, Loch and river fishing, sailing, shooting, boat trips, surfing, windsurfing and scuba diving can also be arranged. The area is rich in wildlife with Oystercatchers, Herons, wintering ducks and waders common in the area. Spot basking seals in the bay and maybe even a sea otter. From Glasgow: take the A82 past Loch Lomond changing onto the A83 at Tarbet. Follow the A83 past Inveraray, down Loch Fyne, through Lochgilphead and onto Tarbert at the gateway to Kintyre.
The A83 continues down the Atlantic Coast to Campbeltown. Take the first left to Carradale and the first hand lower coastal road at the V junction marked with a 20mph sign. Craigard House Hotel is 500m along Low Askomil where you see the red sign.

Hotel Description
Craigard House Hotel is a converted Victorian mansion offering 13 well appointed rooms, many with sea views. With one four poster Master Bedroom Junior Suite sleeping up to 3 with extra bed, five family rooms sleeping 3, one family room sleeping 4, five double rooms and one single room you are sure to find something to meet your needs. Each room is individually decorated with en-suite bath and shower, fully towels, towelling robes and Neutrogena cleansing products provided.
The comprehensive welcome tray includes biscuits, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, still or sparkling mineral water and fresh milk and ice available. There is a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and for your entertainment, a colour television with remote control and Freesat channels, DVD player, clock radio, free WiFi internet access and PC with printer available for guest use. Several of the rooms also include a CD player and / or under floor heating. Laundry facilities are also available – please ask for details. In room spa treatments can be arranged for a special occasion or just to help you relax.
The Lochside Restaurant uses the freshest local ingredients: seafood and shellfish from Kintyre waters, meat and game from local farms and locally produced cheese. Vegetarian options are available and if you do have any special dietary requirements just let us know in advance and we'll be happy to cater to your needs. To help set you up for the day Craigard aims to satisfy all tastes at breakfast from fresh fruit salad and porridge to Stornoway Black Pudding and McSween's Haggis. If you would like to take a packed lunch, just let us know in advance and one can be arranged.

With toys, games, books, magazines, music and widescreen television there is plenty to keep you entertained with aperitifs and after dinner drinks served while enjoying the views over the sea loch. Sit outdoors in the summer with a drink and watch the wildlife and boats.
At Craigard events, groups, conferences and weddings can be arranged. The Lochside Room will accommodate 34 to dine and conference mode while weddings, buffets, christenings, fashion shows and classroom training events can hold far more. Special weekends for Golf and Whisky to name a few can also be arranged with the possibility of team building events and group activities to be arranged locally.
There are yacht moorings available to the front of the hotel for those travelling by sea. Car parking is available adjacent and to the rear of the hotel or we will be happy to collect you or arrange a taxi from the airport.
