B&B / Guest House Description
The Collingdale is a splendid six storey Victorian guest house, beautifully situated with miles of uninterrupted views across the harbour and magnificent coastal scenery of Hillsborough Nature Reserve. Only a few minutes walk from the beach, harbour and town centre; Lundy Island is just a short boat trip away by the supply vessel M.S. Oldenburg, with regular sailings from Ilfracombe, while the dramatic coastal and moorland reaches of Exmoor National Park are readily accessible by car.
All rooms are tastefully furnished to a high specification and our comfortable guest lounge provides a pleasant relaxed atmosphere to sit and read, watch television or enjoy the splendid scenery.
The elegant dining room provides comfortable seating for all our guests serving freshly prepared and carefully presented home cooked cuisine; using locally farmed meat and locally grown vegetables.
Relax in our cosy bar where a good selection of beers, wines and spirits including single malt whiskeys and fine brandies are available for you to enjoy
The Collingdale is beautifully furnished throughout and has nine guest bedrooms, six of which have the stunning views of the harbour and Nature Reserve, with three rooms overlooking the front of the building and the wooded area beyond. Some of the rooms have original Victorian features with marble fireplace, plaster coving, vaulted ceilings and sash windows, plus comfy beds, flat-screen TVs and many thoughtful little extras
Many of our guests book for sports orientated breaks and we have special rates at some local golf courses (including Saunton, Ilfracombe and Royal North Devon) and we are happy to book tee times on your behalf. We can also arrange sea fishing trips which leave the harbour most days.
Ideally situated for walking holidays with the Tarka Trail and Heritage Coastal Path on the doorstep.
