Originally an 18th Century gamekeeper's lodge, the cottage has now been transformed into a really comfortable and attractive home of great character. Reached down a quiet country lane just off the main Dartmouth/Totnes road, it is ideally placed for easy access to the whole of this beautiful area and to Dartmoor beyond. Set in a delightful, secluded position overlooking a lovely valley, the cottage is also on the edge of the medieval village of Blackawton with a traditional country pub offering excellent evening meals.
All our bedrooms have en-suite facilities and carefully co-ordinated furnishings of the highest quality in keeping with the character of the cottage. They also have far-reaching views towards Start Point lighthouse. Delicious, locally sourced breakfasts are served in the old beamed dining room. Guests can enjoy the use of the sitting room with a log fireplace, conservatory, lovely gardens and stone terrace, all overlooking the valley.
A warm welcome, starting with tea and home-made cake, awaits those who are seeking a congenial atmosphere in an idyllic setting far removed from everyday pressures.
