Self Catering Cottage/Home/Apartment Description
Aboyne lies on the A93, mid way between Banchory and Ballater, on the north bank of the River Dee. This attractive, spacious, and lively village was largely developed in the 19th century, with houses and shops built around a large green, with the river running parallel to the south of the green, backed by the surrounding hills. The bridge, built in 1930, connects both banks of this wide, but shallow, granite based flowing river. The green is the pivotal point of the village, where games are played, and there is a comphrensive childrens play area. In August, the traditional Aboyne Highland games take place.
