For those with a historical interest, Rye is perfect with its cobbled streets and antique shops. Battle and Winchelsea are just a short drive away and you can find Hastings four miles away. There's a mix of old and modern with the funicular railway, shopping centre, night clubs and cinema.
If you'd prefer to visit the beach, Camber isn't far away and perfect with the golden sands. There are quieter beaches at Pett level and Winchelsea just a few minutes from the house and if you are adventurous you can climb down the rock to the private beach opposite the house.
Walkers are well catered for with footpaths and woodland leading to the cliffs. Hire bikes at Rye or go swimming, golfing, horse riding and have a game of tennis.
Visit the gardens at Great Dixter, Merriments and Sissinghurst, the houses such as Lamb House or the Castles at Bodiam and Hever.
If you are looking for a good place to eat there is a variety of country pubs close to the House and numerous restaurants in the nearby towns. If you'd like us to reserve you a table or suggest a place to eat, you just have to ask.

From London: Head towards Hastings and after the Battle roundabout you'll see Claremont School on the left. Turn right immediately after the bridge and right again over the same bridge towards Folkestone.
After 10 minutes you'll see traffic lights and turn right onto the shopping area then a sharp left to Fairlight Road (by Co-Op). Continue on this road down the steep hill where you will enter Fairlight Village which will then descend again. Turn left onto Stream House after the 'Road Narrows' sign.
From Ashford/Rye: Head south towards Brenzett and carry straight on at the roundabout. Stay on the A259 around Rye turning left to Winchelsea beach and Pett Level. Continue straight on after the sharp bend and turn right into Stream House B&B.

Stream House has centrally heated rooms and decorated to a high standard, the rooms are light and airy.
The double room with en-suite bathroom and separate shower is spacious and welcoming with complimentary sherry, mineral water and chocolates for your arrival. There are picturesque views out over the countryside where you'll be able to see lambs and calves in Spring. With his and hers washbasins and heated towel rails you can rest easily on the top quality mattress with crisp linen. There is plenty of storage space available with wardrobes and comfortable chairs where you can read one of the available books or magazines. There's a flat screen LCD TV, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, clock radio, mineral water, hairdryer and quality toiletries available for you in the bathroom. Large towels and face cloths are also supplied.
The double room with exclusive private bathroom overlooks the stream where you can regularly catch a glimpse of the local wildlife including badgers and rare birds. There's a good quality mattress, flat screen television, clock radio, chocolates, beverage tray and hairdryer. Furnished with antique furniture, the bathroom is modern with bath, power shower, shaver point, heated towel rail and toiletries for your use. Towels, bathrobes and face clothes are provided for your convenience.
When you arrive at Stream House you can have complimentary tea in the lounge or the garden.
