From the M6
Exit the M6 at junction 38 (Tebay). Follow the A685 east towards Kirkby Stephen. After about 6 miles, shortly after passing through Newbiggin-on-Lune, Ravenstonedale is signposted to the right. On entering the village follow the sign for Sedbergh. When leaving the village you will see a Y junction. Keep right signposted Artlegarth over the cattle-grid; less than a mile you see a sign for Artlegarth Lodges on the left.
From the A1
Take the A66 west from Scotch corner to Brough. Turn south at Brough on the A685. Follow the A685 through Kirkby Stephen. About 4 miles past Kirkby Stephen, Ravenstonedale is signposted left. Turn left on to the minor road. On entering the village follow the sign for Sedbergh. When leaving the village you will see a Y junction. Keep right signposted Artlegarth over the cattle-grid; less than a mile you see a sign for Artlegarth Lodges on the left.

located in the heart of the magnificent Cumbrian up-land countryside. With majestic panoramic views across Wild Boar Fell and the Howgills .These very spacious 4* star lodges are constructed from the very finest Danish Pine logs, blending sympathetically into their surroundings.
Not to be confused with inferior caravan type cabins
It goes without saying they are well furnished . Centrally heated making them warm and cosy during the winter months .
Three good size bedrooms .One King-size with Colour TV, Bunk-room for the children and a Twin bedded room allowing each lodge to sleep a family of 6 very comfortably .A welcoming lounge with three piece suite. Wide-screen sky free2view Color Television, Video ,dvd and music system.
Patio doors lead on to the spacious , furnished veranda with incredible views of the surrounding countryside. Artlegarth is bounded by dry stone walls, fringed on one side by a screen of tall pine trees, with driveways and ample parking. An ornamental pond frequently visited by Heron and wild ducks .A charming stream flows through the wooded area.
The fells and footpaths that surround Artlegarth lodges are a paradise for walking and cycling, whether your idea of a good walk is a brisk mountain climb or a meander along a gentle valley. Walkers can access the hills direct from Artlegarth. The Howgills offer unrivalled walking with spectacular views in an uncrowded beautiful area

Is an unspoilt idyllic Cumbrian village The region is an area of outstanding natural beauty with a wealth of activities on hand, Ravenstonedale lies between the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District national parks. This situation provides 'the best of both worlds' with the amenities of both areas. At hand walking, golf, riding, fishing, Miles and miles of fell and dales plus gently undulating country lanes await you. Buzzards, curlews, woodpeckers and the Red-squirrel are but just a few of the species regularly sighted at Artlegarth.

The Settle-Carlisle railway, reputedly the most attractive line in the UK, winding its way through some of the finest scenery in Britain, is just 2 miles away from the village. Ravenstonedale is an ideal place from which to explore the line. There is no ticket office at Kirkby Stephen but tickets can be purchased on the train.
